We love Christmas here at LGB. The sights, the smells, the sounds, the luxury. So our pre-New Year's Resolution is to bring to you our list of top gifts this holiday season. Over the next 12 days, we will be focusing on products that can give you the inspiration to do some last minute shopping, beginning today with 12 fantastic items. Whatever your taste, we're sure you'll find something perfect amongst these fantastic products…

1.We start off by bringing you some real eye-candy for the watch and clock fans among you. This classic desk clock from David Linley brings a simple elegance with three beautiful clocks featured in a walnut case. This would look fabulous on any desk.

2.This P6520 Heritage is an edgy number from Porsche Design and looks like a car tyre, perfectly representing this most revered of brands. The hidden compass inside is removable and will no doubt ensure that this model is high on the intrepid explorer's most wanted list this Christmas.

3.A fantastic silver Rolex is available from Fourtane. The "Panama Canal" model is a breath of fresh air and looks stunning and modern in this colour scheme. This is well worth investigating.

4.Next up we are happy to see that our favourite customisers the Bamford Watch Department have struck gold again with their gorgeous take on the Rolex Explorer II. It's just pure class and a proper mix of style and substance. This is something we expect to hear big things from, don't miss out.

5.Officine Panerai is offering a great looking analogue watch with classic brown colouring and soft edges. This is the watch equivalent of hot chocolate; smooth, luxuriant and comfortable. The easy to read dial make this perfect for those who prefer the less flashy options.

6.Meanwhile, HD3 Complication has come up with the Black Pearl- this extraordinary timepiece for those who want something a little out of the ordinary. It is based upon pirates and buccaneers and the design is really spectacular, with a sci-fi feel coupled with flashes of the past.

7.Our next entry is a stunning humidor containing 100 cigars. This is another item by Linley who always deliver top quality goods. The box itself is a model of the Partagas factory in Cuba which is so cool and recognizable, we love this box and if you know a cigar fan this will go down a treat.

8.Trek have ushered in what we at LGB think is the next big era in cycling- perfectly designed custom bikes. From a starting point of two basic model designs, the options swiftly open up allowing you to truly customise everything that goes on, in, or with your bike. This is not just a style exercise either, Project One gives you the opportunity of choosing all components and fitting which can lead to some seriously cool designs and riding perfection. If you're serious about cycling, then hop on over to their website, you won't be disappointed.

9.Also for petrol heads, the Yamaha VMax Concept Bike is a stunning new design in collaboration with Hermes. For a motorcycle, this is about as luxurious as it can possible get, with a brown leather upholstery counterbalancing the machinery, bringing a natural feel to an elegant design.

10. This is one of the coolest things I have ever seen. Whilst this is not likely to help you rescue cats stuck in trees, the Jetlev is likely to make anybody feel like James Bond. If there is a must-have gift this year for adventurous souls, this, surely, is it. Q, eat your heart out.

11.Grey Area have some fantastic pieces for art lovers to investigate, particularly this amazing AK-47 picture by Dustin Yellin. If you’re looking for intriguing and beguiling works of art then this is a must-see.

Spaceport America

One small step for New Mexico, one giant leap for mankind. Mos Eisley eat your heart out, now planet Earth has its very own spaceport, created by Foster and Partners. Your eyes do not deceive you- as unbelievable as it may seem, this stunning creation has recently had its opening ceremony along with Virgin Galactic.

The aim of the centre is to allow tourists to travel into space which has got to be one of the most exciting opportunities afforded mankind for years, bringing science fiction fantasies to life for the first time and maybe even ushering in a new era.

What’s most surprising about this though, is that the port’s sustainability credentials are actually very impressive; local materials were sourced for construction and man-mad lighting is minimised by the use of numerous skylights. Energy used for heating is reduced by having the entire structure dug in and ventilation is provided naturally by the wind.

The Lungarno Collection

Oh, but where do I start? The Lungarno Collection is simply the most enchanting collection of hotels set in some of the most glorious locations in Italy.

Leonardo Ferragamo is the President of the collection and his aim is to create utterly unique hotels with the most charming of atmospheres, incorporating the values of the Ferragamo family by paying attention to the very last and finest detail to create a lasting experience for their guests.

The two key ingredients of their success must be location and craftsmanship. This collection is simply stunning. i've heard such rave reviews from my friends I can't wait to stay there next summer.

Maison Moshino

I booked myself into the new Moschino Hotel in Milan. Built on an old 1840's neoclassical railway station and one of the cities most beautiful buildings, oh my god, the Moschino hotel really is something else.

Inspired by a visionary and contemporary fairy tale theme, Moschino has 65 contemporary rooms and junior suites, located over four floors.

The hotel claims to 'inspire the mind while the body relaxes,' and I can confirm that it really is a little bit of heaven. I felt like Alice in Wonderland, and I can't wait for a chance to go back.

Shhhh...

Something new has grasped my attention, causing me to fall in love, and that's the new Ian Schrager's hotel in Chicago, Public.

The guy that brought you hits such as the Hudson Hotel has gone and done it again with this ultimate city break or work hotel, in one of my favourite cities, Chicago.

Public is a stylish hotel in every way. If you're in a hurry, they'll put together your breakfast or lunch in an on-the-go brown paper bag for you to enjoy whilst dashing off - I love this idea, it's very friendly, and very clever.

The hotel there before was the very tired Ambassador East hosting 'The Pump Room' which was the hotel's bar and restaurant since 1938, attracting a number of Who's Who's diners throughout the years. Public have pledged to keep the restaurant and bar under the same name realising that Chicagoans have very long and fond memories of the establishment and its famous history.

Public will no doubt be the must-go-to hangout for anyone that is in the know about Chicago, appreciating the history and the names the place has welcomed over the past century.

Schrager has really created a game-changer in the world of hotels, just as he's done before. Schrager - we at Liquid Gold Baby LOVE your hotels.

45 Park Lane

The Dorchester Group, the hotel chain owning some of the best hotels on the planet has just opened its doors to a new hotel, 45 Park Lane. This new hotel is based in the heart of London. 45 Park Lane opened at the beginning of this month, and is a hotel already making waves.

45 Park Lane is a hotel with a strong 1920's look and feel about it, with every modern amenity you'll ever need. The rooms have that feeling of pure elegance and luxury, and for me, one of the greatest touches, free WiFi available to guests.

The hotel is based a stone's throw away from Hyde Park, boasting the most fabulously stunning views of London. The hotel also hosts an amazing Wolfgang Puck restaurant, 'CUT', so the food is guaranteed to be top-notch. Do check out the Library and the Screening Room, as well as their amazing cocktail bar, 'Bar 45'.

This is a hotel that has all the bases covered. 45 Park Lane is located on the exact spot of the 1960's Playboy Club, so you just know this will be the hotel of the new jet-set crowd, as well as a few old school playboys.

Cipriani's Mr. C

A new, signature hotel brand has been launched by Ignazio and Maggio Cipriani and they've cheekily named it Mr. C.

The Cipriani family are internationally recognised for their restaurants, clubs and landmarked banquet spaces and this hotel will be their first since the late 50's, with 21 year old Maggio and 23 year old Ignazio at the helm.

Within spitting distance of Rodeo Drive, and with panoramic views of Beverly Hills and Los Angeles the hotel comprises of 137 rooms and suites, all designed by the two brothers. There are also five 3,000 square foot bungalows with gourmet kitchens, private plunge pools and garden available, if you need more space!

The hotel wouldn't be complete without the inclusion of the Mr. C restaurant serving 24 hour food for your room, or by the pool.

The Upper House

The Upper House in Hong Kong is one of the only hotels in the world so far that really lives up to the Liquid Gold Baby standard.

I'm back from a trip to Hong Kong. I did not know where was going to be good to stay - for a change I decided to try somewhere new, and not opt for the usual digs. I went on the recommendation of a very close friend of mine, whose judgement I trust completely, and without hesitation, he told me to try out the Upper House.

The Plane landed on time and I was met in arrivals by this slick looking guy complete with name board. He lead me to an Upper House's Lexus Hybrid Jeep that I thought was quite different, but cool. I was impressed when he asked if I wanted to get on the net - yep, the Jeep had wifi. It made me crack a little smile.

After a perfect trip from the airport we arrived at the entrance to the hotel to find another slick member of the concierge team with my details and a room key all ready and waiting for me. I went up in the lifts, which happened to ride effortlessly up to the room itself. I walked in, was shown around and informed that the mini bar was complimentary which I thought was pretty amazing. I was even more impressed.

I was shown around the most wonderful room with beautiful views of Hong Kong. The room came complete with an iPod touch for guests to order room service or request anything else - seriously, in this hotel anything seemed possible! The bathroom was truly stunning. The bar and restaurant have without question, the best views of the city, and with amazing food and great cocktails I saw absolutely no reason to leave the hotel for businesses meetings as I suspected every other venue would pale in comparison!

The hotel is a mix of the Bulgari Hotel in Milan, and the Hotel Coste in Paris. The Upper House is owned by the family that also own Cathy Pacific, the super luxurious airline. They are the Swire family, and I can tell you, this is truly a jewel in the family's crown. The only slightly negative thing I could say about the hotel is that the website does not do the hotel justice, so please, do not judge this book by its cover as it is definitely one of the best hotels on in the world.

Hotel Bel-Air

I'm going to LA before Christmas and I know where I'm going to stay.

Just checked out the images for the newly renovated Hotel Bel-Air and it looks fabulous! As the other Dorchester Collection hotels, it's bound to be up to certain standards and I can't wait to try out the new spa!

It re-opens in October with designs from a collaboration between Alexandra Champalimaud and Rockwell Group. The famous Grace Kelly suite is still there and the new Presidential Suite looks PHAT!

Naturally Cool Kids

I've gone a bit potty over sun creams recently.

The sun barely has to show its face and I'm on the hunt for interesting new products to try.

What drew me to Naturally Cool Kids was the fact that it's natural and it's for kids!

I'm so used to slathering myself in expensive sun creams which, no doubt, are full to the brim with god knows what, that it felt rather satisfying rubbing this in.

One product I couldn't get my hands on was The Vapour Stick which also looked cool and helps to clear a stuffy nose and ease breathing. You can find most of the range on line at John Lewis

J'adore Paris Part Trois

I've been in Paris a few days now and admittedly, my love for this beautiful city had changed a little bit, but last night I went to La Societe, an amazing restaurant ran by the guys behind Hotel Costes making me fall in love with Paris all over again.

This is a chic restaurant in every sense. The food is amazing and the style of the place is just plain sexy. La Societe is the latest hang out of the uber chic and to be honest, I can't blame them. The staff compare with those that work in some of the best restaurants back home in NYC. La Societe has put a new stride in my step when it comes to my love of the most sexiest city in the world.

Today I awoke in Coste and went for a walk down towards Colette and into Goyard. I've totally fallen for their pink print, so terribly glamourous in every style they do. Stealing myself away, I walked on to my meeting with the amazing handbag design house Corto Moltedo and en route, discovered a fabulous beauty spot, Jardin du Palais Royal. Located in a beautiful part of Paris, Jardin du Palais Royal is just so French and completely stunning. On the square is also Corto's shop when you can happily fulfil your shopping addition.

My day trip wouldn't have been complete without a look at the Ralph Lauren car collection. He has some of the best cars in the world here in what I think is the most perfect location. I have to say, I do love it when a huge power-house brand like RL use something like a personal car collection to market a brand. Just too cool.

So, with only one day left in this city, I'm already sad at the thought of leaving, but happy to be here in my hotel room typing this to you while looking out at the sun setting in the most chicest city in the world.

J'adore Paris Part Deux

I have been here in Paris for a few days now and I can say hand on heart that I'm completely in love with this amazing city.

There have been a few things that have let down the fantasy of one of the sexiest cities in the world, and one of them is the Four Season George V in Paris.

This hotel does not live up to the other Four Seasons around the world that I've stayed in. Sadly, I had to change hotel that very evening just because I was so disappointed with the entire experience, and I was so looking forward to the stay.

I was driving down the avenue George V, past some of the most glamourous shops and houses in Paris when I arrived at the entrance of the Four Seasons George V. The masses of taxis milling around the hotel creating a crescendo of noise lining up to collect clients meant it took 17 minutes to get to the entrance of the hotel. I walked through the lobby and into the entrance of the George V with my overnight bag on my shoulder with nobody willing to help. I was momentarily distracted by the most amazing flower arrangement in the entrance and persuaded myself to forget my initial negative impression and check in.

It wasn't long before the feeling of frustration returned, as I joined a queue of people waiting for one person serving behind the counter, busy dealing with a pissed off customer. I took my eyes back to the beautiful flowers again for a bit of inner peace and above the arrangement was a plaque written in arabic. I went onto google and looked up the hotel, turns out the hotel is owned by HRH Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud. I thought to myself - this is clearly a guy who has spent a lot of money on this hotel but with no inkling of taste or style. Such a shame as it could have been the chicest hotel in the chicest city ever.  I do have to warn you about this hotel, and it is such a shame, but even their best hotel room (and one you'd have to spend a absolute fortune on) is outclassed by the worst room any Hilton Hotel in the States has to offer. Truly shocking.

I'd quite like to be able to end my rant there, but I must add that the room service was abominable, the staff were rude - to be brought a bottle of water seemed like they'd done me a huge favour, no respect for their guests, whatsoever.

To finally conclude: Just do not stay in this hotel. There is a happy ending however, which thankfully got my love affair with Paris firmly back on track, I cut my losses and moved to one of the best and sexiest hotels, of course it's The Ritz.

Here's a list of the top hotels that I'd recommend to stay in when in Paris:

1. The Ritz is a hotel standing head and shoulders above the rest. The service and decor are both amazing in equal volumes, the rooms are truly stunning and let's face it - this is THE hotel to be seen in, as well as people watch with the best bread. I might add there's also a killer cocktail list which you can peruse and enjoy whilst doing so. A true A-lister hang out, there's no doubt about it. The owner of this amazing hotel is the former owner of Harrods in England, Mohamed Al-Fayed. There's just nothing I can find fault with in this hotel.

2. Mandarin Oriental - this hotel is still under construction so I've not yet had the pleasure of staying there, but I met the people behind the Mandarin Oriental and its opening and had the true 100 dollar tour. This is going to be one of the major jewels in the crown of the hotel chain. From the amazing entrance to the rooms I had a sneak-peak at, they look fabulous, and in true Mandarin style.

3. The Hotel Coste - this is one of the most sexy hotels in Paris. On walking into the entrance you can just smell the fragrance of the coast. The swimming pool is divine, it looks like something out of Cruel Intentions. There's only one thing to remember when booking at this hotel - if you can afford it, upgrade yourself as the low end rooms are very small and not luxurious, but regardless, you'd still be staying in a hotel that's truly about the vibe of the bar.

4. Le Royal Monceau - This 1920 art deco design with a touch of Ralph Lauren is wonderful. The garden is absolutely the best place to have a sexy cocktail and let the day turn into night. If you're going to Paris, it's a must-stay.

The Corinthia Hotel London

The newly renovated Corinthia Hotel London is pretty superb.

It's not my usual area for a great London hotel but at a stone's throw from Downing Street and a hop, skip and a jump from the Royal Opera House, it's pretty darn central.

The hotel has just under 300 fabulous roms and suites, funky bars and restaurants and undoubtedly the number one spa of the year.

If you're in town for a visit or simply want to spoil yourself, get on to reservations asap!

J'adore Paris Part Une

I've been in Paris for the last few days and I've got loads to report. I'm totally in love with this city, there's just something so chic about Paris.

First Class on Air France was a wonderful experience. Their seats are the best I've known for the price in this class. There's definitely something a little amazing about jumping on a French plane from JFK. The air hosts are incredibly chic and stylish, inspiring the utmost confidence in the flight you're about to embark upon. Air France should be your only choice when flying into Paris.

I was invited to Paris to see a few things. First up was the new Aston Martin Colette edition. I was asked along as the last review I did for Liquid Gold Baby was not the most favourable, but ultimately, I feel the same as I did before. Why has Aston Martin re-styled a Toyota IQ into what they think is a sexy car? I'm surprised at the link-up with Colette, why one of the best trend setting shops in Paris would want to be involved in a project like this is a little beyond me.

I saw the Aston Colette edition on the street just opposite the Colette store itself, with a very elegant gentleman standing to the side of the car with the keys. I decided to put my first instincts aside, be open minded and take a closer look. After all, I'm in Paris, the guy with the keys looked fairly dapper - what have I got to lose? I sat in the car and the first thing that instantly annoyed me about this $70,000 car is that there's no inbuilt sat-nav. Just a portable device. I did think the colour combination was very cool, the silver and blue interior felt like a little bit of luxury, but it still smacked of 'pimp my ride', and do your worst on a small city car. There were a few things I loved about the car; the honey comb design sun-visor and the key chain with the Colette logo were both pretty cool, and also the two blue circles on the back of the car announcing 'Colette Limited Edition'.

Still, I'm sad to say that my first findings of Paris were a little sad, but fear not - there's more to come in my next Paris post.

Supergoop

If you're looking for a new sun screen then look no further than 'Supergoop', brainchild of Holly Thaggard whose mission was to create an everyday UV protection for all with no nasty parabens!

I stocked up on line at Supergoop, where you can find everything from serums and sun sticks to lip balms and wipes.

I loved the look of the 24oz jumbo lotion which would protect the whole family for just $68.

An Interview with DRx

1) If you had to drive only one car for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Upcoming DRx watch project with George Bamford.

4) Tell us about your upcoming projects / collaborations - what's next for you this year?

DC Comics project titled DRx VELOCITY where the governments have lost the war against crime and DRx responds to the threat by designing a line of supercars, rigged with state-of-the-art weaponry and technology. The first issue is starring NASCARS Kasey Kahne and showcases the artwork of legendary Phil Frost. Dropping this summer.

5) What's your favourite iPhone app?

The Hipstamatic camera app.

6) You're renowned for mixing the best things from the past with the present - what first propelled you to do this?

Vintage. I’ve always been intrigued/inspired with vintage. Vintage being everything from childhood memories to classic gear. As much a I love and respect these throwback chapters in time, it sometimes can be a bit challenging to revisit them (rock them). The jeans don't fit right, the jackets have too much damage, the memories although intact seem a bit cloudy. I wanted to preserve these slices of history but flip them so they made sense for today's consumer, and myself of course.

7) What makes an amazing weekend? Where would you go, what would you do, and with whom?

I live in Los Angeles so getting outta here every so often helps to keep me grounded. My favorite weekends are spent in the mountains disconnecting from reality. Would probably say snowboarding at Mammoth Lakes CA and or Jackson Hole WY with a couple of buddies.

8) As a kid, what first did you want to be when you grew up?

A Director.

9) If you were stuck on a remote desert island with five celebrities from both the past and the present, who would they be?

Brigitte Bardot, Jim Morrison, James Dean, Jean-Michel Basquiat and Marilyn Monroe.

10) What's the worst popular fashion trend there's ever been?

Socks with sandals is a definite no.

Dubai hotel

If you're like me and have a love-hate relationship with Dubai you'll love the Desert Palm Hotel, the place I stayed during my last trip. This hotel is truly an oasis in a Las Vegas feeling city.

The hotel is a mere hop, skip and a jump from downtown Dubai an establishment where you'll feel totally relaxed and not at all like you're in the hell of a tourist hotel. Desert Palm hotel is owned by the Per Aquum Ggroup, a high class, stylish hotel chain making big waves in the world of luxury hotels.

Desert Palm is based on the polo grounds where Cartier hold their famous polo match, if you make time you could even indulge in a polo lesson. For those after something a little more relaxing Per Aquum's signature Lime Spa is on hand - a masterpiece in relaxation.

The most important thing for you to do is to book yourself a suite with a pool. Dubai's raging heat will mean you'll be living inside if you don't have a means to cool off! Desert Palm also has a little shop within the hotel for you to get your reading fix (and sweet fix!) and it's a must to check out.

Dubai is for me not, but with the Desert Palm Hotel on offer I'm considering my next trip with a better mind set.

An Interview with Josh Spear

I know you're an intrepid traveller, where is your most favourite place and why?

It's hard to choose favorites when there is so much left in the world to see. I absolutely love the countryside of Japan, specifically an area called Hakone. And Tokyo is an unbeatable city.

What item can't you travel without?

Curiosity.  Travel doesn't work without it. But I guess you're looking for a more concrete answer. I don't leave home without Melatonin so I can fight jet lag. Or my Blackberry– that thing has more miles on it than anything.

Where in the world do you call home?

I call NYC home, even if I haven't actually had a home there for nearly a year. I've been fairly nomadic, so I have a good selection of hotels that I call home (and they call my home) when I'm in NYC. Home is where the heart is, and luckily I've figured out how to carry that feeling with me wherever I go.

What's your most cherished item?

I have some pretty incredible pieces of art I've collected over the years– some early Takashi Murakami. I also love my watches. But my most cherished items probably are my health and freedom– so I can keep this crazy schedule up.

What would you consider to be your greatest achievement and why?

Figuring out early there was something I am good at, that makes money, and makes me happy– all at once.

If you had to choose a favourite modern day car, which car would it be?

Fisker Karma. Henrik Fisker designed the DB9, and now he's making a DB9 to save the world.

In your opinion which fashion line do you consider to be unrivalled and are there any particular individuals shaping the future of fashion?

I'm at odds with most of my favorite fashion lines right now. I used to be a die hard Yohji fan, and a big buyer of his Y-3 line– but they seem to be having quality issues and just not quite getting it. Dior Homme is a favorite, but they sometimes seem to push into the obscure rather than continue with the modern classics.

I like what Thom Browne is doing and how his pieces are mixing the future with the past– and what he did for Moncler was fantastic.

What's the best shop in the world?

Colette in Paris probably. Although Japan has a couple rivals– one of my favorite for clothing is Edifice and of course United Arrows is a mecca. Dover Street Market in London is classic.

You're famous for spotting the next big thing - what's exciting you most this year so far?

Technologies impact on how we alter behaviors and empower communities of people to share, change, and create a better future. I travelled to Sub-Saharan africa last year with a friend working on a project there and I couldn't believe I had 3G cell service in the middle of nowhere, a thousand miles to the nearest city. That's going to change everything. Everything.

Has there ever been a trend or a craze that has made you cringe?

I wasn't ever so fond of people wearing Crocs in public, despite their comfort and functionality they really should be left in the garden.

The French Holiday

If you are looking to get away from the big city this summer and do a little bit of travelling why not have a look at the French Riviera.

If this is the place you're looking for then we can reveal that you should look no further than Cap Estel. A truly stunning hotel, Cap Estel will no doubt be the gem of your summer. This is a hotel that will succeed in relaxing you totally, enabling you to return to the Big Apple fighting fit - they have an amazing spa and the food to die for.

This French delight of a hotel is situated between Nice and Monaco which I'm sure you'll agree is just a wonderful place to be for summer. The bed feels as though it has been made out of puffs of clouds and you'll sleep on it as if you really were on cloud nine.

Surprisingly the French staff are amazing, the sound of the sea is ever-present and as soon as you arrive at Cap Estel you'll feel as though your summer has instantly begun. It's a truly magical hotel and one you'll wish that you could stay longer at.

This is a 805HP true James Bond boat, a genuine alpha dog in the world of small speed boats. The speed of this amazing boat is a 100mph and with a length of 32'9, it's basically a Ferrari of the sea. Alpha Z has been designed with true style insight. Van Dam has kept to the design brief as you'll agree by looking at the images.

I was so lucky to have been driven in one of these incredibly sexy boats only a few days ago. The 805HP V8 sounds so sexy and the single screw propeller is a perfect combination of sound and pace. This is a boat just like a beautiful old Ferrari, it screams out style and taste. If you're wanting to be a true alpha man then this has to be your ride of choice.

Interview with George Bamford

LGB has a large base in the States - tell us about the set up over there, where can we get hold of your products?

Bamford Watch Department has a few dealers in the States, we're in New York, Los Angeles, Miami and Hawaii. We also have a service centre in the States and we have just set up our new offices in London as well.

We'd love to know a bit about you, who are your three ultimate style icons, who excites and influences you?

James Dean is one of my style icons, he's so cool without having to try. Terence Young is the man that gave Bond his style; Young was the director of Dr No, the person that made Sean Connery a style icon. On this list I could mention Steve McQueen, a definite style icon, but his name has been trampled on too much by commercialisation. The other person I think is amazing is Cool Hand Luke, also known as Paul Newman. How cool that a certain Rolox Daytona is now in his name. He's an amazing racing guy, a fantastic actor and also has his own food range. Paul Newman is an one of my biggest influences and icon - he really does tick every box.

We've heard you're a massive film lover - if you could be any character in fiction, who would you be and why?

I would love to be Batman, the man in black with the coolest gadget car, not to mention his wonderful day job and those fighting skills. Truly every man wishes he was Batman, to be able to fly but with no other super powers besides those amazing gadgets and his strength to take on the world. He is so cool.

Your favourite film of all time?

Well as I have just blest Batman then I should say Chris Nolan's Batman. There was a time when it would have always been any Bond movie, but the last one put me off all of them. I feel more excited about going to see the new Batman flick much more than Bond 23. I do feel so sad about it, but Batman has definitely taken the role of the coolest action hero along side Jason Bourne.

Where is your ultimate weekend getaway and what would the weekend involve?

Wow, that's a question that's made me think. . . However, I'd have to say Paris on the Eurostar to stay in a very chic and sexy hotel. There's something very sexy about Paris. From shopping at Colette and Finger in the Nose for my son, to dining out and experiencing fine cuisine. The city is just wonderful.

I also love going to Paris as you can avoid those annoying airport delays due to frogs on the line etc etc... As a weekend getaway, Paris is just the place - from London you can be so quickly in the centre of an amazing city.

What are your five must-have items to take with you around the globe?

A good pair of headphones. I love the B&O ones. A good notebook - I like writing down my ideas and I am in love with my moleskin notebook, they alway make me feel special when I write in them. I always have in my bag a picture of my wife and baby in a small old school sliver picture frame. I cannot live without my iPad, I feel as though it can do everything for me, both entertainment and work wrapped up in a neat device. Lastly, a good pair of shades. I am in love with my Hogan's sunglasses at the moment.

Being a watch designer you must have a passion for gadgets - what would you say is the latest and coolest gadget out there?

Well, when you think of gadgets, you now only think of Apple. I love their products but I personalise them as I think personalising products that are made for the mass market is just so much cooler. You can create an individual look for already cool looking products.

What's your favourite watch?

My favourite watch is one of my own personalised watches, a Bamford Watch Department Rolex Daytona Paul Newman dial. This is a truly sexy watch that I've not taken off my wrist, it pays homage to the original but being cased in a modern watch it's from the best of both worlds.

What's your oldest and most treasured item of clothing?

An over coat that was worn by Peter Sellers. It's a black over coat with fur around the collar. It's totally falling to bits but this winter has just gone on and on, I did not want to take it off. I absolutely love it and love to think that it's a truly vintage piece.

Crosby Street Hotel

I am one of those people that loves to take a weekend break. I have to admit, I hate traveling out of the city but I do love staying in hotels in New York.

I've found my new favourite hotel in the city, the Crosby Street Hotel. This place is just so amazing and so cool. They have a kitchen garden on the roof, growing the actual vegetables that will go into your salads. The food is amazing, they've got it so right - having just exactly what you what, when you want it.

Crosby Street Hotel has just the right feeling of luxury and style without saying you have to conform. They have a screening room for all of your movie requirements which is just wonderful. This is the first of many inroads in New York for Firmdale Hotels, a UK based hotel chain that really puts the 'boutique' in boutique hotel.

The Crosby Street Hotel has quailed my downer on NYC, sending me back to the city I love with my head held high and ready to go. This is a hotel that is a true oasis in a very wonderful yet busy city.

Pantone Hotel

The Pantone Hotel in Brussels is certainly not for people who wake with a hangover but it sure is cool.

This 'hotel of colour' is totally unique with its innovative design by Michael Penneman and Oliver Hannaert - you can choose your room colour depending on how you feel.

If you don't actually want to stay there, they have a fab bar with city views on the roof terrace where they sell apt colour coded cocktails.

Lost Suitcase No More

I think I've found a wonderful solution for the problem you face when you travel - 'are my bags going to turn up at my final destination?' The best way to tell if a suitcase will be there or not is by a personal GPS device, and there are a few companies that do them.

I am in love with a few of them but the one that I think is most practical is Garmin GTU 10. This gadget links your iPhone and your bags via an app you can download. The little device travels in your luggage and you can track it anywhere in the world.

The other feature I like about this device is that you can input the places you do not want your bags to be left and it will alert you with an email informing you when they're moved. The battery life is so impressive it will make your Blackberry and iPhone seem as though they need charging all the time.

So, if you're one of those people that does not want to lose your bags ever again, I think this is your best option. At the very least, you'll know exactly where your bags are in the world.

The Green Leaf Hotel

Japan's Green Leaf Hotel is on everyone's lips at the moment, it did open a few months ago but all those usual teething problems have long gone and this truly is a leading ski hotel like no other!

The rooms are stunning and well thought out and having taken inspiration from their vast Soichiro Tomioka art collection each room had unobstructed views of Mount Yotei. The spa is quite dreamy after a long day on the slopes, there are restaurants galore and the shop is adorable, I spent hours mesmorised by all the novel little products.

Perfect Moment Skiwear

When it comes to skiwear I'm a bit of an RLX or Moncler girl, BUT, in comes 'Perfect Moment' to steal the show.

The new Winter 2011 Collection is pure genius with something for everyone, I just hope they start a children's line soon and then it will be a one stop shop for the whole family!

The new line has been seven years in the making and has been tested in the harshest of environments by the PM team. Clothes can be bought on their online shop or in stores in Chamonix, La Clusaz, Morzine, Argentiere, Megeve, Meribel and Biarritz.

What more can one ask for?

Mondrian SOHO

I have just been given the details of the new MONDRIAN hotel, opening in February. This wonderful, sexy hotel is going to be in SOHO, yippee!

Ok, so the one thing about hotels is not to go there in the first week or so, as they'll still be getting rid of all those bugs. But, this place is will be a force to be reckoned within the well established world of NYC hotels.

Looking at all of these images, what I can glean out of the people around the project is that this hotel is going to be one big jewel in the crown of Morgan's hotel group and also NYC itself.

There is going to be a stunning restaurant serving sustainable fish, making them look and taste delicious. The master chef behind the restaurant is going to be Sam Talbot.

What I am so much more excited about is the area. Of all the hotels to have great drink and just chill and meet people, Imperial No. Nine is going to be THE hot spot. That I where I will be living! See you there.

3 DAYS TIL CHRISTMAS

We've talked about some great present ideas for men, woman and children, but I wanted to post something for the traveller among you.

With so many products to choose from it can be a bit overwhelming, so I hope this helps!

To start with, you need the best travel bag, well, actually you need two, but let's start with the staple shoulder bag and she'll have to make do with an old favourite to sling over the crook of her arm!

This Hermes Marwari bag is very special and not too extortionate at £710. I love this light canvas and vache leather one with a handy outside pocket for passports and tickets. It does come in gorgeous black taurillion clemence leather with a special goatskin lining but that will set you back just under two thousand! You can't buy it on line but most Hermes stores around the world should stock it.

Next (and very importantly) is the see-through inflight pouch to go inside the chic new bag, a Waitrose zip lock simply won't do! This burgundy transparent number has been a sell out everywhere and is on most girls' wish list. You can buy it online for £135 or in store again, worldwide.

And last but not least, no travel bag would be complete without the perfect pair of shades for landing; I'm mad about glasses and my favourite design by far are Italia Independent, who brought us those awesome velvet effect shades last season. For travel though, I would opt for these timeless sand blasted acetate frames which come in nine opaque colour variants to go with the frames you choose.  My pick is Amber 54 at 247 Euros.  Buy online here

Sharps Products

I'm always on the look out for cool new men's products and the thing that attracted me to this particular $6.50 soap was the awesome, golden, delicious colour. And then, of course, the name 'Happy me All Over'.  With marketing like that, how could one not want to stock up?

To make matters even better this hard milled soap promises to give a great lather and doesn't dry the skin like so many modern products do! It exfoliates and refreshes with extract of papaya. It nourishes with ginseng and is deeply moisturising with mango butter and almond protein.

I'm all over this great brand which has a plethora of items to choose from. They even do mini versions which come in handy for travelling.

Hostem

I was in London over the weekend and a friend of mine took me to a men's emporium that was just truly amazing.

This Shoreditch menswear-only designer space is a mix between Maxfield's in LA and Jeffrey's here in New York, but so much more wow.

Hostem is the name of the store, and this 4-room wonder of men's clothing stocks brands that we can only dream of wearing, they are all just amazing.

From Visvim to MA+ and Rick Owens to mention but a few, it is most definitely the who's who of cool brands in one store. I must also say that when you visit the store you should have a look in the back room, it has a Dr Romanelli's Prescription Shoppe which is breath-taking to say the least.

The interior of the shop is done by JAMESPLUMB and when I say I think this is what the new modern movement is all about, you will understand exactly what I am mean.

This mixed designer store is a MUST visit when ever you're in London, you will be in heaven. This is without a doubt, already a cult shop and its only been open for one wink of a eye!

Hostem is the kind of store you'll treasure as your naughty secret, as you'll look wild in anything you purchase from them.

Tree House Hotel

One of the first places I wrote about following the launch of LGB was The Ice Hotel. The ultimate mini break for those wanting a bit of an adventure.

Fast forward to 2010 and if it's possible, I've seen something even cooler!  Sweden's Treehouse Hotel makes you feel like you've stepped into a page of a CS Lewis novel. It really is astonishing, every boys' childhood fantasy comes to life here, with activities galore - from nature treks and mountain trails to fishing and cattle safaris.

Amangiri

I have just got back from seeing one of the best hotels on earth.

It is of course one of the Aman Resorts, but I thought to myself, how could they have a luxury hotel in the USA that's just a destination place with not much around it? If you are wanting the perfect break that will take you away from the big city, this is where you should go as it is a break from everything.

There is only one thing that will wake you up, a coyote in the morning! No horns of taxis or anything that could take you out of your relaxed state. The spa is amazing, this is where the city is taken out of you, you'll be reinvigorated and made to feel like life is amazing all over again. Do not tell anyone, but the water pavilion is where I spent the best part of 2 hours, you can hide away in there away from the world. Do not forget your swimwear.

Amangiri is the hotel you should have on the top of your list for your next trip, as this is the break that every busy person needs.

If you want to relax and indulge in a bit of you time, this is the hotel that ticks every box.

The W London

The W hotel group has always been pretty cool but I've never seen marketing quite like their twelve minute short 'Away We Stay'.  Directed by Edoardo Ponti, it launches their new W Hotel in London's Leicester Square.  An all star cast, including the beautiful model come photographer Helena Christensen makes this romantic love story utterly captivating and I've already watched it four times!

Nose to Tail Sleeping

Ok, this is an insight into something that we think is going to be great.

The guys that brought you the most amazing 'nose to tail' restaurant in the UK, St.John, are now opening a hotel. It is set to open in December in London, England.

When I was last in the UK I was so happy when a friend of mine took me to this mecca of food heaven. St John's Hotel has some great ideas; the rooms are perfect for every traveller's need and not over complicated. The light switch does what its told and the TV turns on and off, so it all sounds great. There is a simple elegance to a hotel like this.

Now, do not expect the Four Seasons, as this is not it, but do expect some amazing food and a bedroom that is beautifully simple and stylish. As I have found out in London it's all about where you stay and how far away your meeting is from your digs, the bottom line is, if you are looking for a great hotel in the WC area then this should be top of your list.

This is a note pad with a difference, this is the celebration of 60 years of Peanuts. So, if you don't like Snoopy or the Peanuts characters then stop reading now!

If you're a huge fan like us, you should try and get you hands on the best looking note pad out there. I've been a huge fan of Moleskine for a while, they are just the best companion for any trip,  or to invent your next super computer Moleskine have been at every part of my design process.

Now, the book that I plan on taking all over the world is going to have Snoopy on it; do you think that people may take me less seriously? You know what? All I can say is that I do not care. Nope, I just love these Moleskine jotters.

Heaven on Earth

I love Six Senses and I love The Maldives, so what could possibly be better than the new Six Senses Latitude Laamu, which is located on a luscious privately owned Maldivian Island, opening this December. With a hellish trip to Male, then a flight to Kadhdhoo and on to Olhuveli by boat it's by no means an easy hop, skip and a jump but once you're there it's sure to be dreamy!

These gorgeous, eco friendly villas are settled along the beach or sit on stilts in the quiet lagoon making Laamu one of the most romantic places on earth.

If you're into snorkeling, they have some of the best reefs in the world but be ware of the mini sharks! They offer all the usual water sports and you can even try your hand at surfing or fishing. For the workaholics among you, they promise fast internet and a cozy den which is bound to make work a little more bearable.

There are a few restaurants to choose from all serving fresh organic food and the wine cellar looks extremely slick. I can't forget the first class treatments on offer in the huts on the beach and the idyllic meditation pavilion which looks out to sea. There are a hundred rooms in total so you won't feel as secluded as you do at my favourite honeymoon hide out, Huvafen Fushi, but it's fabulous and could be better for families.

If white sandy beaches, luscious tropical vegetation and clear Indian Ocean waters are what you're up for, contact reservations-laamu@sixsenses.com and get booking for New Year.

Safari in Paradise

Are you up for a unique Safari experience?

If you are, then Wolwedans is the company for you. They own a fabulous collection of camps in Nambia that are quite different to the others I've been to.

The most interesting is The Private Camp which is hidden away in a remote valley and only sleeps four guests! The en suite bathrooms are pretty crazy for Safari living and the open plan living shows off the most staggering views of the surrounding desert.

One thing I missed was the hot air ballooning but the images speak for themselves.

Mama Shelter, Paris

Created by the Trigano family (co-founders for Club Med) and French philosopher, Cyrll Aouizerate, MamaShelter was designed by Philippe Stark so it's as slick as can be and has already won many awards for best hotel.

It's located just off Rue Belgrad, so it's very central and with special offers starting at 99 Euros a night, it's easily my favourite Summer pick!  If you're already in Paris, then you must check out their Chic Chic bar which is said to be the new 'it' hang out where all the Parisian DJ's stop to play a set or two. There's also a delicious brasserie and new pizzeria. Oh and one last catch, - they have free on demand movies in all the rooms.

Town Hall hotel is a set up that is going to give the Soho House group and others, a lot to think about. These guys present a unique hotel making the others feel dated. Lufthansa

This is THE luxury way to fly, for a elite few.

The new cabin layout and seating is for the King of all aircraft, which is, at the moment the A380. Lufthansa has not let you down on the experience you're going to have onboard.

Lufthansa's new first class seating is beautiful. With no stone unturned they've created a restful place to work in or just to sleep. Lufthansa has as ever, thought of each tiny detail. The bathrooms look as though they have been stolen from a 5 star hotel. Lufthansa is giving you a glimpse into the future of luxurious flying. The sumptuous seats are definitely somewhere you'll love spending a long time in on those long haul flights.

There are some down sides, unfortunately you'll need to get yourself to Frankfurt to be able to fly in the A380 which goes to Tokyo, Beijing, and Johannesburg.

Not only is this a great plane, together with what is now a super company, first class has been made luxurious all over again. The only problem with Lufthansa is that they do not fly these amazing aircraft in and out of JFK, but if you're up for a stop over in Frankfurt, get aboard the Lufthansa A380!

Traveling with the Little Ones

There is a travel website / company out there that has been designed especially with families in mind.

My Little Swans has been set up as community for travellers with children, those requiring a different experience from the normal holiday. This website tells you the facts and so much more to put you ahead of other holidaymakers, you'll already feel like you have your feet on the ground with their overview. This is a great tip and trick on how to make your holiday a great time with your little angels, or devils!

My Little Swans have partnered up with a great tour operator as well as their concierge partner to make the whole trip a breeze. It is hard to say that a website can offer so much but this one is most certainly delivering.

This is a travel agent without the trash. There should be more of this type of website as it would work for so many aspects of people's lives. My little Swan is a lux way to travel, and God, the kids will love it.

SOHO HOUSE BERLIN

Is is me or is Soho House taking over the world? One of our writers has just blogged about Soho House in Hollywood and for months I've been desperate to get out to LA so that I can check it out, but the one that's really caught my eye is Soho House Berlin located in Berlin Mitte www.sohohouseberlin.com which opened two weeks ago.

As usual, it's a private members' club but this is the group's biggest yet, with 40 bedrooms to choose from all looking as cool as each other. With 'Tinys' starting at 75 Euros for 24 sqm attic rooms and 'Extra Larges' starting at 375 Euros, for 118 sqm with the signature free standing bath, dining table and chill out area it seems like they've thought of everyone.

What I love about Soho House is that you know what to expect from the Cowshed Spa to the pool on the rooftop and I always feel like it's my home away from home plus they certainly know how to party!

I've stayed in houses all over Italy but this 13th century villa, nestled away high up in the Tuscan hills is simply dreamy and what makes it even more romantic is the fact that 800 years ago, it was the resting place for pilgrims on their way to Rome.

The Raleigh

One of Miami's best kept secrets.

The Raleigh hotel is in Miami South Beach, and it is a hotel hideaway that brings you back to the Mad Men era of cool. The Raleigh pool is a great hang out for swimming or to simply watch the world go by whilst lying on a wonderful deck chair or sitting by the bar or the pool.  You really will feel like you are on a set of a great 1950's movie.

The Raleigh Hotel has a modern feel to it with a great Miami design that seems to work so well with their impressive architecture. The rooms at this hotel are divine with their 50's style complete with all the modern features you'd expect in a modern hotel, it's all there, but not on show.

The hotel puts you in a relaxed mood as soon as you walk through the door. The staff are excellent - making you feel that nothing is to hard for them to do. The Martini Bar is one of the best hotel bars in the world, you should try the Au Pear drink, it is fabulous.

Quite simply, this hotel is THE must stay in Miami.

I went to the much talked about Dorchester spa when it re-opened and was extremely disappointed, but after trying it again a few weeks ago with a girlfriend, I was hugely impressed.

Firstly, I'm a total sucker for all those yummy Essie colours which they have as decoration in the nail bar and secondly my friend insisted on treating me to their spa tea. It was pretty incredible and I left feeling beautified and not too full, the portions are just right.

Have a look on their website www.thedorchester.com to view the full info on all the teas they do, too many to mention! Oh, and don't forget to look up the champagne one, which is of course my fave!

Yotel

I want to talk to you about something I have heard about, called Yotel.

Yotel is coming to the Big Apple, that's right, Yotel is coming to NYC. Now, I would have thought the Big Apple has had its fill of small cool rooms like the ace hotel set up, the bunk and cheap rooms that I would l say are amazing. However, Yotel seem to have taken small hotel rooms to a whole new level with rooms that form a variety of functions.

Simon Woodroffe is Yo's company founder. Woodroffe started back in 1997 with the Yo Sushi conveyer belt sushi restaurant in the UK. It seems as though he has taken his magic formula and applied it to something else we like to do, (besides eating) and that is sleep.

I cannot wait to see what the Hotel, sorry Yotel is like. www.yotel.com

"The journey of a thousand miles begins with but a single step." Confucius

We think that this quote best describes what we are doing here at LGB. We are here to not perpetuate the norm on blogs but to be innovative on news. We want to show and to write about travel, cars, movies, architecture and fashion in a different way. This is a place that should be your one-stop for the news on all the luxury items that surround our lives.

We have multiple writers at LGB and they are divided up into three groups:

l@liquidgoldbaby.com This group focuses mainly on travel, cars, movies and architecture. Now, when we say that, we mean that we are looking at new travel destinations or ones that have been forgotten, yet still amazing.

Cars: We are looking at the cutting edge of car technology and also looking at what has shaped them to this point.

Architecture: We are going to be looking at revolutionary design, what has lasted and why it has lasted for so long. We will be looking at designs that take your breath away.

Movies: We are looking at what is coming out, but also jumping back to cult classics. We will show trailers that we like and will write short reviews of the movies that we think you should see.

G@liquidgoldbaby.com This group is all about women and what they really want. It’s going to be your black book, your one and only source; a place you can come to for what’s really moving and shaking in the women’s fashion industry. It will include products that are needed for the busy glamorous life and where to go to get them.

B@liquidgoldbaby.com This group is all about men and the life that surrounds them. We are looking at what is hot, everything from watches to the latest in technology. We will look at what has moved us to where we are today, also looking at trend forecasting to see what and where we think trends will be heading.

We cannot wait to show you our world and would like to leave you on a great quote that we think is our motto here at liquidgoldbaby.com.

"I am easily satisfied with the very best". Winston Churchill
