Lego's Life of George

Lego has proven it can move with the times with it’s expanding array of video games in recent years and now they have gone one step further with this product that combines actual Lego bricks with an iPhone app. I always enjoy inventive use of technology and this is just that, a great combination of real and virtual toys, for adults and kids alike.

Purple Dragon

After the huge success of the children's members' club in Battersea, which is now a serious little nursery, the much anticipated launch of Purple Dragon Chelsea has happened and my goodness, it opened with a bang.

You've got to hand it to founder, Sharai Meyers, who is quite literally there every second of every day. She's going to make PD a roaring success and I wouldn't be surprised if we saw these amazing clubs opening all over the world.

I went to a hard-hat day a few months ago to see what all the fuss was about and I remember being totally bowled over at her wonderful fantasy like vision and ideas but nothing could prepare me for the actual thing. Yes, there have been few teething problems as to be expected on opening, but give it a few months and PD will be a godsend.

From the DJ booth to the climbing frames, to the golf range and back again, not to mention the jumbo pool that's about to open, harking back to the 70's with brightly coloured beach huts as changing rooms and sand-like flooring. Sharai has thought of everything and it truly is a child's idea of heaven.

Tiger Food

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw my favourite childhood book had been brought to life by the V and A Museum's shop.

For £3.50 you can actually buy a tin of Tiger Food! Disguised as orange crunch biccies, these awesome treats have been made especially for the V and A to go hand in hand with Judith Kerr's book, 'The Tiger Who Came To Tea.'

Too cool for school!

Toy Watch Bambini

Every year when I pass the Toy Watch shop in Sardinia I think to myself, 'what can they possibly do next year?' Well, they couldn't have done much better than this.

Bambinos can get creative with the new online customiser where they can choose face colours, paint colours and much more. The actual watch comes with 5 different coloured bezels, 5 felt tips and a pad of watch paper templates so they can create their own personal watch.

This brings a whole new meaning to ones first watch! £85 from Toy Watch

My Cup Of Tea

I love finding new teas and was particularly interested when a friend brought a box of  Strawberry Cream tea to my son's play date.

'Are you bonkers?' I said with a vision of eight under eights bouncing off the play room walls.  'Trust me,' she said, popping on the kettle. Five minutes later she had poured this delicious concoction over cold water adding oodles of ice before blending on high, pouring into plastic cups with a straw and Voilà! It was the most delicious ice tea I'd ever tasted.

Made for little people but enjoyed by all!

Snoopy Tees

At £89 these polo tees certainly aren't cheap even for adults but we've gone crazy for these kids Snoopy anniversary polo shirts that Lacoste have made exclusively for Selfridges.

They would be perfect with jeans or shorts this summer and are sure to sell out soon.

Lego Water Bottles

I think these Lego water bottles are so cool.

Kids and adults alike will want one of these to brighten up their lunch box and they can be filled with anything you like.

They're plastic but importantly, phthalate and bisphenol free making them safer than some drinking bottles.

Check out Firebox when you can buy for just under £10.

Barbie Shanghai

I quite honestly don't know where to begin, Barbie Shanghai is easily the coolest thing I've seen in days.

All under one roof, you can have your own Barbie photo shoot, shop for everything from high fashion to the dolls themselves.

You and your favourite Barbies can get matching hairstyles and you can even design a bespoke doll of your dreams. Before you leave, make sure you hit the cafe, where you can even get a burger with special pink ketchup.

Barbie Shanghai, I'm on my way!

DucDucNYC

I find it hard to find fun things for children's bedrooms and playrooms so when I find something, I jump on it.

DucDucNYC is my new favourite one-stop shop for when it comes to decorating for children of all ages.

Something I had to snap up today was this wicked little table which comes with a clever paper roll for drawing. There's also a removable rolling draw under it for extra storage. It reminds me of the most genius easel that I fell in love with at The Cool Hunter which sadly never went into production.
This little table has quite a long lead time but it's going to be worth the wait. It's $895 and you can choose from seven colours.

Boattail Racer

This Boattail Racer is making an impact on how we look at cool products.

This limited edition toy is amazingly packed with design and engineering. The boat tail racer comes from The Auditorium Toy Company, a business you should be keeping an eye on, as we are.

The Auditorium Toy Company is a new business with old ideas, these are toys that last, toys that won't fall to bits as soon as they are out of the box.

The Boattail Racer is for kids and also for adults, and even just an amazing object d'art for your designer apartment.

T-shirts for Kids

It's hard to find cool clothes for little ones these days but I love these funky little tee shirts from Threadless Kids.

The best bit of news is that they've been marked down to just $12 a piece. They also sell cute little baby grows with the same sort of designs and would go with almost everything from jeans and combats for boys to leggins or tutus for girls! Each to their own!

Lego Love

This is the most wonderful mix of storage and Lego I have seen.

This is a life-size Lego piece that's simply amazing, as it's a toy box as well. That's right! You can put your kid's major lego set in this box and the'll just think you're so cool.

This is from a very cool company in the UK, one I think we've spoken about before, Not on the High Street. You need to check it out as this company for the essential items.

6 DAYS TIL CHRISTMAS

There are only 6 days to go to Christmas and if you're like me and have left things to the very last minute then Liquid Gold Baby is here for you. Here's a list of the best 6 gifts that you should get your hands on before Christmas for the children in your life. This is part of our run-up to Christmas, showcasing the best things to get your loved ones for the big day.

1. This awesome FOA Big Piano will be a sure hit this Christmas with all ages alike and will definitely bring back some happy memories.  It's a bargain at $79.99 and I can't wait to get my hands on one!

2. Stella Mccartney is the Queen of cool in my book when it comes to kiddies clothes and I went pretty crazy over her collaboration with Gap. If your little one is keen on fashion, they'll love this Lee Military Jacket ($145) which can be bought in store or online. Team with a pair of drain pipe jeans and high top Converse. It will be a collectors item in no time!

3. Every kid out there probably has one of these bad boys on their wish list and although they're expensive (ranging from $500), they do come online at the Apple Store with free engraving, making the present more personal. I've loaded one up with loads of educational books and interactive apps which will easily make me favourite God Mother on Christmas day without getting me in trouble with the parents.

4. I've talked of this delicious emporium before and their Christmas range this year is mouth watering as ever. Children of all ages will go wild for this Christmas Party Basket ($100) from Dylan's Candy Bar  and if that's too steep, gifts start at much less.

5. I'm crazy about London based present company www.gift-library.com. It never ceases to throw up an abundance of fabulous ideas. I gave these luscious Penelope Wildberry sheepskin Flying Heart Booties (£85) to my niece a few months ago and all her friends have put them on their Christmas wish list.

6. This hand crafted Trumpeting Elephant rocker is too gorgeous for words.  It costs a whopping $144 but it does make real elephant sounds and children love it. Barney's sell a range of different animals but this is easily my favourite and one to keep for years to come.

Out of Print

This is a moral business that may make sense to you this winter shopping season.

These cool looking T's are not only a product that you can wear, but one you'll feel good in when doing so, as these T's are from the business Out of Print Apparel.

Now, Out of Print Apparel has only one great and moral mission. With every T-shirt sold, they'll send a book to a community in Africa. The great thing about the T's is that they are all based on great book covers; covers that have been judged so many times you just know they'll look amazing.

Lucky Boy Sunday

The odd world of kid's toys has just got odder.

This is Lucky Boy Sunday, fabulous softies and other kids delights, it is a must check-out for the oddly fabulous present this christmas.

Do not be apart of the crowd with the usual old teddy bears, as these are teddy bears with a difference. The thought these guys put into every product is just amazing and I love their way of turning our perception of a normal teddy on its head.

Reality with these teddies and kids toys is going to be fun and wonderfully charming.

Stella Bambini

I must admit, I was more than a little upset to hear that Stella was no longer going to be collaborating with Gap Kids.

I must have bought two of everything at more than reasonable prices. Having said that I don't blame her, after such a huge success, for branching off on her own. The new kids' line, which is just too divine for words, hits stores on Wednesday and I'll be the first in line at 10am.

The whole collection will be shown at her London flagship's Bruton Street store in W1.

Dodo Baby

This is the best of baby Basinet that I have ever seen.

If you are a designer mother or architectural father then this is the must-have Dodo basinet that you need in your designer house.

There's one problem with this basinet, and that's that all your other baby furniture will look dreadful in comparison to this piece of baby kit. It is made of a wonderful natural silk. My first instinct is to worry about your little one being ill in it...  but, I don't think your kid would dare to be ill in this bed, that kind of behaviour would definitely not fit in this designer environment!

So, forgetting that one problem, you are going to be the happiest parent looking down at your little person in this designer cocoon of silk and white wood.

Teddy Bear

This is teddy bear should be on Tim Burton's bed.

Viktor Wynd's Little Shop of Horrors is a shop beyond your imagination. These two headed teddies are bizarrely amazing and also cuddly. If you manage to get to this shop in Hackney, London England, then you might find some other bizarre items for your very own cabinet of curiosity.

This Tim Burton style teddy is not for your little baby, unless you are a total goth but God, it's cool.

baby milo

Bathing ape's little brother Baby Milo has teamed up with Hello Kitty to bring you these great kids' outfits.

Bathing Ape is a brand that we've talked about a few times on this blog and it may seem to you that we are somewhat in love with them, well, you'd be totally right, we do absolutely love what they're doing.

Baby Milo's kids' range is amazing and is a must buy for all the cool kids. Baby Milo's collaboration with Hello Kitty is a pleasant surprise; the cool underground image of Baby Milo is in stark contrast with the mainstream brand Hello Kitty, and together, these brands have accomplished something amazing.

Hello Kitty with a twist of Bathing Ape is just totally cool.

http://www.marshmallowville.com/ sell loads of different options from the Camo and Cheetah Shooters (pictured) to M Force pistols and crossbows and range from $8 to $50.

Joe's Jeans

Joe's Jeans, the celebrity choice of jeans and t-shirts have now stepped into kid's clothing.

The range includes of course, great jeans but also their t-shirts are amazing too. This is the brand to ensure your kid is the coolest kid in the playground. Their clothing has a great edge to it and most importantly, your kid will want to wear their designs, as much as you will like to see them in them. The clothes are so wonderfully made that while you're shopping, you won't be able to resist buying a pair of jeans for you and your better half. Their jeans are just unbeatable.

LEGO Heaven

LEGO's flagship store is to open in NYC today. This is kid paradise or paradise for the kid in you. This new Lego store is opening up in Rockefeller Center and the date of the opening is today and tomorrow 29th and 1st July.

If you really want to let the kid within you out, you can help build a 15ft apple to celebrate the store opening. If building an apple does not grab you, how about a limited edition t-shirt to show your love for LEGO. A great thing to walk out with.

Like so many, LEGO has such a wonderful place in my heart, and now there is a store to help bring out or should I say, bring back, the big kid in you. If you are a dad or a mom you're set to score some good brownie points here!

I am running off there now....

Traveling with the Little Ones

There is a travel website / company out there that has been designed especially with families in mind.

My Little Swans has been set up as community for travellers with children, those requiring a different experience from the normal holiday. This website tells you the facts and so much more to put you ahead of other holidaymakers, you'll already feel like you have your feet on the ground with their overview. This is a great tip and trick on how to make your holiday a great time with your little angels, or devils!

My Little Swans have partnered up with a great tour operator as well as their concierge partner to make the whole trip a breeze. It is hard to say that a website can offer so much but this one is most certainly delivering.

This is a travel agent without the trash. There should be more of this type of website as it would work for so many aspects of people's lives. My little Swan is a lux way to travel, and God, the kids will love it.

Lego Rocks

If you are like me and have fond memories of growing up with the iconic brand Lego, now is the time to let your inner kid free and express your love for lego.

There are two great salt and pepper shakers, just a little nod to the past and then there are these fab shakers - with the actual head of the lego men, well, a jumbo sized lego head! They look so great, as I am writing this I have hugh smile on my face.

Then, there is the ice tray, another nod to your childhood but this will make you look super cool. The ice tray and the salt and pepper shakers are just great ideas and another reason to retain our brand loyalty for even longer.

Thank you, Lego for making these products as they are just awesome.

Finger in the Nose

Finger in the nose is the ultimate clothing brand making your kids cool and the envy of the playground.

The name is just great, 'Finger in the Nose.' It's exactly what you'd want a children's clothing brand to be called! The new spring summer collection has a rocker feel to it, and in it, your kid would fit in to any mod band or rock band or look the part playing air guitar.

This is a French company that will make any modern kid look completely chic. Finger in the Nose's store in Paris is designed for grown-ups to feel as though they are cool buying something in there for their child.

The must have buys for the little rockers out there are the Dalton black toon T's or Roy True Red country shirts. The collection is just amazing, go wild for your wild ones!

Oh Baby....Petit Bateau for 10 Corso Como

Buying clothes for bambinos has never been so much fun.

Firstly, Milan's heavenly emporium, 10 Corso Como has started an online shop you you can stock up without schlepping to the flagship and secondly they have the most adorable range of children's clothing.

This T-shirt and pant set by Petit Bateau in collaboration with 10CC isn't cheap at just over 100 Euros but it's a bit different and great for the summer.  Don't forget that French babies are tiny so go a few sizes bigger.

We think that this quote best describes what we are doing here at LGB. We are here to not perpetuate the norm on blogs but to be innovative on news. We want to show and to write about travel, cars, movies, architecture and fashion in a different way. This is a place that should be your one-stop for the news on all the luxury items that surround our lives.

We have multiple writers at LGB and they are divided up into three groups:

l@liquidgoldbaby.com This group focuses mainly on travel, cars, movies and architecture. Now, when we say that, we mean that we are looking at new travel destinations or ones that have been forgotten, yet still amazing.

Cars: We are looking at the cutting edge of car technology and also looking at what has shaped them to this point.

Architecture: We are going to be looking at revolutionary design, what has lasted and why it has lasted for so long. We will be looking at designs that take your breath away.

Movies: We are looking at what is coming out, but also jumping back to cult classics. We will show trailers that we like and will write short reviews of the movies that we think you should see.

G@liquidgoldbaby.com This group is all about women and what they really want. It’s going to be your black book, your one and only source; a place you can come to for what’s really moving and shaking in the women’s fashion industry. It will include products that are needed for the busy glamorous life and where to go to get them.

B@liquidgoldbaby.com This group is all about men and the life that surrounds them. We are looking at what is hot, everything from watches to the latest in technology. We will look at what has moved us to where we are today, also looking at trend forecasting to see what and where we think trends will be heading.

We cannot wait to show you our world and would like to leave you on a great quote that we think is our motto here at liquidgoldbaby.com.

"I am easily satisfied with the very best". Winston Churchill
