Tommy is coming

If Tommy Hilfiger sculpted the early years of your life and you're now like me in thinking that they're far behind you, then look away now! And if not, then I have some great news for you.

Tommy is coming...  That's right. There's a book on this iconic brand that changes the face of urban society in the USA. This is a photo album of all the adverts and shoots that I can remember, ones that I know that you will too.

Tommy Hilfiger has an amazing contemporary take on American style and choice, with the most beautiful and classic coloured top in RED, WHITE and BLUE. The book includes tributes from a fair few admirers, like the amazing Anna Wintour and the oh-so cool Quincy Jones.

This book is a celebration of 25 years of Tommy, and what a wonderful 25 years he's had.

Juice it Baby

After 2 weeks of eating pasta in Italy this was a welcome site on my desk this morning.

A simple idea made easy without all that sticky mess in the kitchen. Ingenious company 'Radiance' will do all the hard work for you. Offering both three and five day programs for the more hard core detoxers out there, 'Radiance' will deliver to your door five juices for each day of your cleanse.  A fresh lemon tonic drink to kick start the digestive system, three delicious fruit and vegetables juices and my favourite, a cashew milk for a quick protein fix.

The juices are combined with carefully selected supplements and they also throw in tips on how to carry on post cleanse. Get ready for a serious Summer blues regime and e-mail info@radiancecleanse.com

Teddy Bear

This is teddy bear should be on Tim Burton's bed.

Viktor Wynd's Little Shop of Horrors is a shop beyond your imagination. These two headed teddies are bizarrely amazing and also cuddly. If you manage to get to this shop in Hackney, London England, then you might find some other bizarre items for your very own cabinet of curiosity.

This Tim Burton style teddy is not for your little baby, unless you are a total goth but God, it's cool.

KAWS

Rizzoli is doing a book on the amazing artist, KAWS.

This retrospective of the career of the amazing artist KAWS is coming out in November so just in time to make the Christmas shopping list.

Brian Donnelly is the man known officially as 'KAWS'. Donnelly started out as a graffiti artist, where he subverted images on billboards and adverts in the 90's. He got picked up by the Japanese society and began collaborating with Nigo from Bathing Ape (we have spoken about Nigo before) starting his uber cult following.

His works have sold for as much as $400,000 and he is growing into the Warhol of our age. This book is the 'best of' so far and what an amazing best of it is.

KAWS, thank you for making such cool art.

Rainy Days Shoes

If you are from England your ears should be burning in our office today.

We've come across these gum boots and we were wondering just who these would be great for, then we thought, well, it's always raining in England!

These gum boots come from a great company called Rain Level, in Europe. Although it seems to mostly rain a lot more over there than it does here, these boots are going to be the greatest thing to wear this winter in NYC.

tab graphics

Twenyty8Twelve

The beautiful Miller sisters, Sienna and Savannah have unveiled their latest autumn/winter collection in a wicked fashion film shot by Angelo Penetta, staring Sienna and Sara Blomqvist and filmed at the home of the late Isabella Blow.

It's very cool and has a great sound track which makes you want to shop the collection!

Street Food

I know I must stop banging on about food but I saw this and couldn't stop myself.

King of the London Dumpling scene, 'Ping Pong' has opened a Chinese street food place called 'Now' which serves over the counter delicious chinese take out all day long.

I guess the idea of a Chinese brecka sounds pretty revolting but it's not what you think - 'Now' has come up with a whole load of revolutionary healthy Chinese day breakers like rice milk porridge with a huge range of toppings from blackberry to palm sugar. The custard swirl buns are pretty wicked too!

For lunch or dinner I'd definitely go for the famous dumplings and snack on the black sesame and goji berry snaps. For caffeine addicts they have a plethora of black, green and white teas so something for everyone really.

Now is located at 22 Liverpool Street, London.

I am still here

This is a movie that explains a lot. I think this movie will be guaranteed to keep you on the edge on your seat for the duration.

Joaquin Phoenix has had loads of press, and now this movie has come a long it should be able to put them all in check.

The Anthologist

Nestled on Gresham Street in London's East End, The Anthologist, with its 'open all day' bar, skinny cocktails and fabulous deli is a sure hit with local and City folk.

Following the huge success of The Refinery in Southwark, The Anthologist is Drake and Morgan's third venture and I must say it's impressive! I love the feel of the open plan kitchen where you can see the chefs at work.

The burger is fab and my Skinny Grape Martini at 93 Kcals (adore the fact that they disclose this) was a total winner. Word on the street is that another Drake and Morgan treat will be opening later this year! For reservations, call 0845 468 0101

Made in Space

Interview with Henry Holland and Joshua Oldfield - Eleventh Commandment

1) So, tell us about the inspiration behind the 'Made in Space' collection - where did this come from?

Made in Space is our fourth full collection and is by far our biggest to date. Our previous three collections (Made in Your Mind, Made Underground and Made in Purgatory) in a way have all been steps leading up to Made in Space, which is the first time we have really had the capacity to go all out and produce everything we wanted to for the season. At 120 pieces it has been a bit of a nightmare in some ways with lots of different aspects to juggle in production but we feel it really has something for everyone with jeans, tees, singlets, dresses, shorts, bodysuits, chinos etc etc. It is a really good representation of where we are at now as a label.

It’s difficult to identify the specific inspiration as the collection developed so much between conception and production but I would say
predominantly the range is all about exploring the unknown.

2) How did you guys get started in the fashion business?

We started out with a few concepts that we didn’t feel were represented in the market at the time. With some late nights, some cheap wine, a lot of trial and error and plenty of hard work we somehow found ourselves with a clothing label on our hands. Neither of us had any formal fashion training so we didn’t really know what to expect and I guess it started out as more of a hobby but it didn’t take long to completely take over our lives. We’re lucky that we’ve had a really positive response from our customers and help from some great people along the way and now we feel like we’ve built a solid foundation that will allow us to continue to expand.

3) What piece of clothing couldn't you live without?

Jeans. Josh and I are both denim aficionados and have been for as long as we can remember. Denim is our main focus as a label although we still move larger quantities of our jersey pieces. Denim customers want a label they know so it takes time to convince them to try something new. Hopefully once someone tries Eleventh Commandment jeans they are hooked and don’t go back.

4) What's the ethos and attitude behind Eleventh Commandment

Ultimately Eleventh Commandment is all about having fun. We want to produce the absolute premium quality denim and apparel but while we take what we do very seriously we don’t take ourselves too seriously. We are just making clothes after all. But hopefully they are the clothes you are wearing on the best days and nights of your life and you’ll associate Eleventh Commandment with that.

5) What's your motto?

Our motto is ‘Style is a Language’. This is a mantra that first came from my travels to other countries. Occasionally I would see someone or someone would see me and we would approach each other but even though we couldn’t speak the same language we would indicate that we liked each other’s style. This was our common language. It has remained with me to now become the philosophy behind our label.

Joji Kojima

Do you want to know who makes Lady GaGa's jewellery? The one and only Joji Kojima.

Joji is based in Japan but his early life was spent in the U.S.A where he was born and educated. He had his own line that you may remember, called Hotel Gluttony.

Joji has made pieces for Lady Gaga, helping her to uphold her reputation as the most wacky style icon of the century. Joji Kojima is the most interesting jeweller; he constantly keeps you guessing as to what he'll do next. Joji is the best kept secret of all the avant-garde celebrities currently making a big splash in the fashion pages of your favourite magazines.

The only name that means anything in super designer jewellery is 'Joji Kojima'.

tab graphics

Black Swan

This is new movie that has set a light all the critics AND the Venice film festival.

The lead is played by the most amazing actress, Natalie Portman with Vincent Cassel as main man. It is a beautiful movie that I can not wait to see.

December 1st is the release date and I am going to be a happy camper sitting around waiting for tickets!

The Belt of all Belts

This leather and silver belt by Italian designer Delfina Delettrez is worthy of Daphney Guiness wearing!

Made of gold, silver, iron, copper and Tuscan marble fused with precious stones, this wicked belt wraps snuggle around your waist with sterling sliver fingers which interlock to form a clasp.

It's totally bespoke to each client and takes 20-30 days to make, so get one the phone to cult store Culture Lab or have a look at their website, but be ready to fork out a whopping 2,752 Euros for this spectacular piece.

tab graphics

Wall Paper

Wall paper seems to be having a bit of a come back and I think Cole and Son's take on old goblets is pretty cool.

They have hundreds of themes to choose from and these cups come in several different colours. They're not taking themselves too seriously and it's not at all stuffy or what you would imagine from wall papers.  I'm thinking of using the black and colour in my downstairs loo but it would also work well in a dining room.

Check out their website for all their new ranges

tab graphics

Tom Binns Tees

I love Tom Binns and I love the route he's going with these wicked, eccentric tees done for one of my all time favourite stores Matches.

They cost £135 and are so much cooler than rocking fat jewels! Well, not as cool as his own costume jewellery but amazing all the same. The best bit of news is that unlike many modern t-shirts, they can be thrown in the wash on a cold cycle, now you can't ask for more than that! Buy them in one of the Matches London stores or online at

tab graphics

Safari in Paradise

Are you up for a unique Safari experience?

If you are, then Wolwedans is the company for you. They own a fabulous collection of camps in Nambia that are quite different to the others I've been to.

The most interesting is The Private Camp which is hidden away in a remote valley and only sleeps four guests! The en suite bathrooms are pretty crazy for Safari living and the open plan living shows off the most staggering views of the surrounding desert.

One thing I missed was the hot air ballooning but the images speak for themselves.

Check out their website for a full list of the camps and see what else they have to offer.

tab graphics

Dog Love

If you are like me and you love your dog then you will like cool dog kafe.

This is a bakery like no other, it only specialises in the best dog treats and my dog has tried them all. If she could talk that what she would say?!

The best and cutest of all of them, and I think you'll agree, is the peanut butter puppy cookie and they are even good for you and I.

If you have a dog or even a friend with a dog, then this is the perfect present.

tab graphics

Monoqool

When it comes to cool glasses there should be a new name in your mind and it's Monoqool.

They have designed two great frames that look amazing. The first one I want to tell you about is Helix, a light weight frame that looks like it takes its inspiration from a ring binder to connect your frame to the arms. The Helix has been designed by two great designers, Claus Jensen and Henrik Holbaek and they've won a RED DOT award for the best of the best design.

Then there is my favourite, the Twins. The double arm design is a truly great feature, layering colour between the arms to make it look amazing.

Monoqool, thank for reverting glasses to keep the visually impaired a chance to look super cool.

Bags of Vitamins

I really love everything about this product.

Dr Steve Rothwell is a man dedicated to sustainable and environmentally friendly farming and his farm in Hampshire is the only farm to hold the Conservation Grade status because of it. He holds a PhD in watercress and is most certainly the man in the know when it comes to baby leaves! His products look great and taste even better.

His brand has launched with 'A ruddy gorgeous mix of Wild Red', Super Hot Rocket', 'Nose Tinglingly Peppery Baby Watercress' and my all time favourite, 'Shoots and Leaves', pictured. It's a yummy mix of pea shoots, baby spinach and baby chard - a great source of folic acid and vitamins.

For stockists, check out this website

Make the Switch

Switcheasy is a company that has been making some of the best Apple accessories for a while now.

This is the nude back for your iPad, it's made from a super strong material called GE Lexan, a polycarbonate material. The case is only 1mm, making it ultra thin.

If you want a white backed iPad then this is your company, they've produced it in so many colours from white to red and also a clear so you can see through it, sometimes it does pay to be NUDE.

Mama Shelter, Paris

Created by the Trigano family (co-founders for Club Med) and French philosopher, Cyrll Aouizerate, MamaShelter was designed by Philippe Stark so it's as slick as can be and has already won many awards for best hotel.

It's located just off Rue Belgrad, so it's very central and with special offers starting at 99 Euros a night, it's easily my favourite Summer pick!  If you're already in Paris, then you must check out their Chic Chic bar which is said to be the new 'it' hang out where all the Parisian DJ's stop to play a set or two. There's also a delicious brasserie and new pizzeria. Oh and one last catch, - they have free on demand movies in all the rooms.

Book on line at http://mamashelter.com/

Swift Point

This is the smallest mouse in the industry.

The new Swift Point mouse has been designed to fit so well in your hand, it makes you feel as though you are using a pen.

This mouse is ultra portable, ultra small and it looks great. I think this is going to take the place of most people's track pads on their laptop as this works on the wireless network.

This mouse has a great battery life, on a 90 minutes charge you'll get a full 2 weeks' use. There is only one problem with this great mouse, and that's that some time you'll have problems finding it in your bag or at home as it is so damn small.

iPhone/iPad wallpaper

If you are bored with putting dreadful pictures of your friends or loved ones on you iphone or iPad then you should check out Poolga.

Poolga will make your already cool looking Apple product have an even funkier, cool edge to it. Poolga have done a great thing; they've put together a great selection of designers and illustrators to develop the best graphics for your luxury hand held device.

So, take your cheesy snaps of your mates off your iPhone and throw one of these great wallpapers up instead, you will not be disappointed.

Spellbound by Sandwiches

I am so spellbound by sandwiches right now, this weekend I ate THE most amazing sandwich from Wichcraft. Forget about any other sandwich for this is truly the King of all sandwiches.

Wichcraft is the brain child of Top Chef Judge Tom Colicchio, Sisha Ortuzar and also Jeffery Zurofsky and I can only say thank you.

They have give the common sandwich a new look and a new taste with wonderful combos for instance - chopped chickpeas with roasted red pepper and black olives, all these ingredients together just make your mouth water. Wichcraft has multiple locations in NYC ,San Francisco and Las Vegas baby and they are the wonderful dark horse of the sandwich world.

The sandwiches from Wichcraft can be compared to wine pairing, they pair wonderful ingredients with such amazing artisan bread to give you the bite to die for. If you pop into Wichcraft then go to the one on 11 East 20th Street  you may just see me there chomping down on my favourite sandwich, but seriously, of all them are just superb - in particular the meatloaf and cheddar sandwiches.

Wow, after this weekend I could live in Wichcraft, they've certainly managed to put the most wonderful food spell over me!

Mamiya RZ33

Mamiya has visited the past for their new camera with the launch of the new RZ33, the photographer's camera.

We have been chatting to some great photographers on why would Mamiya would bring out a camera like this, they've all said the RZ series was one of their favourite film cameras and now they've made gone digital, it is THE must buy for all great photographers.

There are, however, some down falls with the camera - it's only 33 mp, but then again, compared with you happy snapper this is loads. Mamiya have loaded this camera with amazing technology so that when you're taking a shoot your client can wirelessly see it on a iPad or iPhone and that is amazing.

Mamiya has one of the best reputations for get lenses and this is also true with the RZ33 as you have the best system of a lens that has been tried and tested on the old RZ systems, so you're in safe hands selecting one of these great cameras. According to the professionals in the business, the RZ can also work with both of the best operating softwares, Capture One and Leaf capture.

Mamiya have reinvented a classic with such a great modern spin, this really is the ultimate professional camera.

Design Duo

London based Catherine Burd and Buddy Haward are a bit of a design duo!

I love their stark, clean lines and there's nothing, after sharing a company for ten years, that they haven't tried a hand at.

They have designed everything from housing and homes to schools and bridges and it's difficult not to be drawn to the simplicity and beauty of their ideas!

If I was starting from scratch these are the guys I would opt for so if you're looking to to create your dream home, give them a call +44 207 482 9243.

baby milo

Bathing ape's little brother Baby Milo has teamed up with Hello Kitty to bring you these great kids' outfits.

Bathing Ape is a brand that we've talked about a few times on this blog and it may seem to you that we are somewhat in love with them, well, you'd be totally right, we do absolutely love what they're doing.

Baby Milo's kids' range is amazing and is a must buy for all the cool kids. Baby Milo's collaboration with Hello Kitty is a pleasant surprise; the cool underground image of Baby Milo is in stark contrast with the mainstream brand Hello Kitty, and together, these brands have accomplished something amazing.

Hello Kitty with a twist of Bathing Ape is just totally cool.

Rabbit in the Moon

The New York trend of UK pub it seems is here to stay, as last night we went to Rabbit in the Moon.

This great looking new gastro pub located on West 47th between 5th and 6th is amazing and has the great feel of Beatrice's but it also has a really relaxed feel as well.

The food is fabulous as are the drinks and I think this is definitely the new contender of one of the best places to go in NYC. The crowd in this place are amazing considering it has only been open a month.

Rabbit in the Moon is a place that you'll fall in love with and want to come back again and again.

Madeleine Thompson Cashmere

I've been watching Miss Thompson for a while now and her collections have grown from strength to strength.

Each piece is easy to wear and the cashmere feels good enough to eat! Madeleine jets between her factory in Hong Kong, New York and London and always seems to be on the move collecting ideas and getting inspired for new pieces.

I could quite literally own a MT wardrobe and nothing else. I can't wait to snuggle in to her latest range, I usually pick up her pieces when I'm in London from Austique on the King's Road or from Barneys in New York.

Her AW 10 collection can also be seen on her website.

Converse have teamed up with one of my favourite childhood memories and that is Dr. Seuss.

Converse have been very clever in this collaboration, not only will their kids market open up and expand, but it will also appeal to adults like me, those that love finding a pair of really cool sneakers.

Their high tops are definitely going to be the must-have, but do not forget to check out their cut offs, as these look amazing.

Dr Seuss is amazing and the link with Converse will see any avid collector scrambling to buy these wonderful sneakers.

It's a sad day for NYC

It is a sad day for New York as The Standard Hotel is closing the door on the Boom Boom Room.

It has come to desk that the Standard Hotel is shutting the Boom Boom Room door after tonight. This is a sad time as this club has been the centre of New York clubbing with the likes of Jay Z and Alicia Keys calling it their home to name but a few.

Yes, this is a sad time but on a happier note the venue is going to open up as a members' only club, making it even more exclusive. Really, the only change that I can see is that this move will stop hotel guests thinking they have the right to access the Boom Boom Room and personally, I really hope this move works. Bearing in mind that Soho House is only around the corner, people will be hard pushed to make a decision as to which place they should try and get a membership at.

The only benefit of this becoming a members' only place is that it will be hard to get in, but, the main benefit for the Standard Hotel is that the cost of running the place for Andre Balazs will now be covered by its members.

So bye-bye Boom Boom Room, I really hope you keep your name, and HELLO exclusive members' only club, I'm really hoping you work out, you are an amazing place with the most killer views.

A Slave To Fashion?

Riccardo Tisci is a god and will go down in history with this couture collection for Givenchy.

The revelation, which was more of a fashion presentation than a show, has already caused quite a stir in the fashion world and I can see why! A stream of white, flesh-colored and gold works of art adorned with fur and feathers, crystals and pearls not to forget the zips made of tiny bones to keep with his usual gothic touch. Every last detail was created with thought and executed to perfection.

This dress, shown, took six months to complete and many pieces took over a thousand hours to make..

Perfumed Locket

I don't like the name but I love the romantic idea behind this 'Vinaigrette' necklace, which in essence, (excuse the pun) is a Victorian locket with a heavenly aroma of smelling salts or vinegar developed by Durga Perfumes.

It was fashionable in the 18th and 19th Century, mostly to mask unpleasant smells, but it's a sweet idea to hark back on, especially with the use of a square of linen that has to be soaked in one of two scented liquids that are included in the sale. One more floral and the other more woody. When you wear the pendant, the heat from your skin, warms the metal and allows the scent to waft through the locket.

The whole pack costs $125 and can be found worldwide or on line at http://ericaweiner.com

It isn't easy being green

It isn't easy being green but here's something to make you look super cool to be green.

This is the new Mercedes SLS E-Cell, although it's a horrid colour it is still a cool looking car ensuring you keep your eco creditability.

It has a 563bhp engine that can throw you to 60mph in 3.9 seconds, taking only two tenths longer than the non-eco version. This is achieved through a liquid cool lithium-ion battery that the SLS has designed to fit in the car so that you do not even have to be bothered by it. Mercedes claim that on one single charge of the battery it will go 100 miles. Sounds good, but if you actually read into it, if you've been pushing the car hard, round a race track for instance, this goes down a lot, to a range of 30 miles so actually not that impressive.

This is a car nodding to the very future of exactly where cars are headed, but why do all eco cars fall at so many hurdles, making this sexy car a little bit of a let down. The SLS is a very attractive car guaranteed to keep your eco status intact, but do you really want to be in a lay-by waiting to be picked up when you have run out of energy?

Mercedes have also incorporated a special screen inside the vehicle to tell you how good the cars is to the planet, and to tell you that this is the future, and all other cars should quake in their boots. This is a 4 wheel drive car, that unlike its sister the gas guzzler seems to make sense. It is $150,000 more, but perhaps worth it to help the earth.

To conclude, this is a sexy car that will make you feel good about the planet whilst zooming past other cars... until you need another charge. If you need eco creditability then this is the car for you, but if you just want a great car to make you go 'wow' then definitely go for the regular SLS and have loads fun.

Ice Ice Baby

When this appeared in my inbox a few weeks ago, I knew I had to have one, the colours were good enough to eat!

The 'Quick Pop' maker is truly revolutionary when it comes to making ice lollies. You store the unit in the freezer ready for a hot day and hey presto, you're ready for action!

You can get creative with the ingredients you use and the colour combinations you want to rock. I'm quite excited about the idea of a yogurt and nut pop, or a chocolate milk one. The unit can make up to nine pops before it needs re-freezing, they take only minutes to make with no wires or electricity.

The machine costs £39.95 and can be purchased at http://www.zokuhome.co.uk

Scent from Heaven

A merchant named Trudon started selling domestic and parish candles in Paris in 1643. The business has been passed down through the generations and in 1719 officially became the royal wax manufacturer. Trudon have made candles for everyone from Napoleon to Hermes and Dior and remains traditional to this day after being rediscovered in 2006 for the film 'Marie-Antoinette'.

The packaging is truly stunning and this sumptuous thick bottle green glass is the ultimate statement. I've only had mine for a couple of months and it really smells like home, exactly what you want from a candle. I love its size, but although you think it should last forever, it doesn't and at $375 it's not exactly cheap but God I do love it and I have just ordered two more.

I also love their 'Fumeurs' which are like altar candles, they're available in five sizes and they have a beautiful seal, and are only slightly scented.

The shop is like a gallery and a must if you're in Paris, situated at 78 Rue de Seine. I found mine at The Shop at The Bluebird but if you look at their website http://www.ciretrudon.com you'll see that they're getting stocked up all around the globe.

Eleventh Commandment is THE word in amazing original and slightly naughty T's.

This Australian fashion house has got a great edge in the T's market, they have some great t-shirts that make you more than once!

One that really stands out is the Kate Moss T, that's just great in so many ways. There are loads of T's to choose from.

Eleventh commandment do not only make killer T's but they also make amazing jeans that have such a fab fit. Check them out for something new this summer, or in time for the winter.

Gaultier for La Perla

Jean Paul Gaultier has joined forces with super sexy brand La Perla bringing his first official lingerie line out this November.

It's not the biggest surprise as his collections have touched on the boundary for years including the famous cone bra worn by Madonna. The 27 piece collection (which will be sold in stores like Neiman Marcus and of course La Perla) will include those fabulous corsets, high rise knickers and matching bras.

Knowing La Perla, they won't be cheap, but they'll be pretty spectacular.  You'll be able to see a taster at his couture show in Paris later this month

Range Rover Evoque

This is the new Range Rover baby called the Evoque. That got launched last night oh and we went this is sexy.

This Evoque is going to be the mini of the Range Rover world but it is not going to be like the BMW X1, it's going to be a luxurious new take on mini SUV.

This is going to come in a 5 door and a funky 3 door and I think that it's going to be a good change on the Range Rover line up. It's going to have its official launch at the Paris motor show in October. I am so happy that despite being taken over by TATA, Range Rover have not rested on their laurels.

Range Rover has pushed the luxury market forward for so long, their new 2011 Range Rover really made the luxury market sit up and take note. Evoque is going to step into the mini SUV market and in my opinion it will shake up the market and turn it on its head.

Range Rover, thank you for creating a rocking mini SUV!

Mcqueen Lives On

McQueen lives on and looks strong than ever with Sarah Burton's (the new creative director of Alexander McQueen) Resort Spring 2011 looks.

I love her direction in this collection and think there's a bright future here for such a great English brand.  I think Lee would be proud.

Town Hall Hotel

There is a new name for your travels this summer in the hotel world, and that is the Town Hall.

Town Hall is a hotel based in London and we think it's very cool. This is your home away from home, and certainly not a claim we take lightly, this is your little bit of peace in a hectic city.

The rooms have a unique design to them that as you can see, look so comfortable as well as being stylish. The Town Hall hotel is a converted town hall for the east end of london, situated within walking distance from Spitalfield Market and Brick Lane. This hotel is your key to future shopping heaven.

If you're planning a trip though Europe this summer then try the Town Hall Hotel as it is going to be your new favourite. Town Hall hotel is a set up that is going to give the Soho House group and others, a lot to think about. These guys present a unique hotel making the others feel dated. I can not wait to see if they will open up in NYC.

Town Hall hotel is the place to stay for those in the know.

LEGO Heaven

LEGO's flagship store is to open in NYC today. This is kid paradise or paradise for the kid in you. This new Lego store is opening up in Rockefeller Center and the date of the opening is today and tomorrow 29th and 1st July.

If you really want to let the kid within you out, you can help build a 15ft apple to celebrate the store opening. If building an apple does not grab you, how about a limited edition t-shirt to show your love for LEGO. A great thing to walk out with.

Like so many, LEGO has such a wonderful place in my heart, and now there is a store to help bring out or should I say, bring back, the big kid in you. If you are a dad or a mom you're set to score some good brownie points here!

I am running off there now....

Chewing Gum

I found this gum at the counter in Whole Foods and I'm hooked.

It's unlike conventional gum which is loaded with artificial ingredients, Peppersmith is made using the best quality, real mint and natural chicle (sap from the Sapodilla tree), meaning no funny preservatives or chemical bases!

The thing that caught my eye was the cool but simple retro style packaging which works like a box of matches, and the coolest thing is, when you push the box open, it comes with a set of little paper wrappers to use when you've had enough chewing! The only down side to this wonderful product is the the flavour doesn't last long, but in my mind that's a good thing and reinforces the fact that it's so natural.

They're working on spearmint and cinnamon which I can't wait to sample, buy on line at Peppersmith or from most health food shops.

Limelight

Limelight the night club as turned in to a beautiful place to doing shopping.

This once was a church, then a night club and now it's simply a fab place to do some great shopping. Limelight Marketplace is a mall with difference as this is not a purpose built building for shopping, but it has a charm to it that make you feel at easy to do shopping.

Limelight is home to some amazing shops and there is just a great feel that these are luxury brands that you may not have heard of but you just know they're going to be the new names on your tongue. This is a chic shopping experience, you are guaranteed to feel so proud walking in and out of the marketplace.

There is the best cupcake store in side as well the best beauty shops, you should stop in the courtyard and check out the wonderful fruit and vegetable store, it is just delicious.

Limelight is a great marriage between high luxury shopping and amazing food... This is the one-stop-shop that you will love as much as we do.

The Best Burger

There is this naughty little secret and it's called Blue Nine Burger.

This 3rd avenue burger joint is nothing to look from the outside, but please - do not judge this book by its cover, as this IS the best burger joint in town.

Blue Nine Burger is on 3rd between 12th and 13th and if you have travel a distance just to get there I can assure you it is a journey very well spent, as I found out.

These great burgers make me feel like Homer Simpson when he's dreaming about donuts. I really have no idea why, but their sauce is so good, every time I think about it I turn into Homer again!

Check it out if you are a burger lover, as you will not be disappointed.

Lufthansa

This is THE luxury way to fly, for a elite few.

The new cabin layout and seating is for the King of all aircraft, which is, at the moment the A380. Lufthansa has not let you down on the experience you're going to have onboard.

Lufthansa's new first class seating is beautiful. With no stone unturned they've created a restful place to work in or just to sleep. Lufthansa has as ever, thought of each tiny detail. The bathrooms look as though they have been stolen from a 5 star hotel. Lufthansa is giving you a glimpse into the future of luxurious flying. The sumptuous seats are definitely somewhere you'll love spending a long time in on those long haul flights.

There are some down sides, unfortunately you'll need to get yourself to Frankfurt to be able to fly in the A380 which goes to Tokyo, Beijing, and Johannesburg.

Not only is this a great plane, together with what is now a super company, first class has been made luxurious all over again. The only problem with Lufthansa is that they do not fly these amazing aircraft in and out of JFK, but if you're up for a stop over in Frankfurt, get aboard the Lufthansa A380!

Mavros

Patrick Mavros the super silversmith from Zimbabwe that has set up shops with a flagship store in London but that is old news, as I am finding out. They have opened up in the prestigious shop Harrods so Mavros is becoming the main name for amazing silver work.

Mavros has created these amazing belt buckles that are made out of sliver and of course, they are the real deal. These buckles are the best new edition to the category called "men's clothing".

Mavros is a master in craftsmanship but it's more than that - these buckles go beyond craftsmanship and become pieces of art.

Helmets

Many of you will have already heard of 'Les Ateliers Ruby' and if you haven't and you own a motorbike, get with it.

Created by Jerome Costes, Ruby is an inspirational collection of motorcycle helmets with the true stamp of French style.

Each one is made from carbon fibre for strength and has a chrome trim and lambskin lining. The quality and attention to detail is certainly there and each helmet comes presented in its own beautiful red box.

I love their website http://boutiqueruby.com where you can play for hours choosing from dozens of colours, paints, designs and sizes to create something truly special.

They're terribly expensive, the one I designed came to just over $1,000 but it's bespoke at its best and I'm sure Steve McQueen would approve!

tab graphics

RED

This is such a bizarre role for Helen Mirren but how cool to get her in super action movie. The movie also stars a great bunch of misfit actors that from the trailer, seem to really fit together.

This is a definite thumbs up, and it comes out around October time.

Sex On Legs

Alison Ching, founder of Mary Ching in so hot right now!

The half Chinese, half English beauty is rocking the world of platform stilettos and we can't get enough of her.

My favourites are these, 'Mrs Anna's' with chocolate suede, water snake and fox fur from her A/W Adulterous collection - wear then with something smoking or wear them with nothing else at all!

Heralded as, 'The Next Big Thing,' by Vogue China, Ching sure puts the sex in to water snake skin legs!

Dom Perignon Rose

The new elite Dom Perignon Rose Oenotheque 1990 is THE super champagne from a super champagne house.  It has a stunning colour and also a divine taste.

This is one of the hardest to find champagnes. A set of vintage Rose Oenotheque from 1966-1990 sold at Sotheby's for a whopping $128,410.00. The price was for some other vintage bottle as well but if you take this into account, the fact is that the new DP Rose is a collector must-have.

A delicious champagne that's going to be your little secret for a very, very special day.

Porsche is the Word

teNeues has brought an amazing new book to the market. If you're a car lover that enjoys thumbing through a great book, then this is the one for you.

Bluntly, this is car porn at its best, and in this instance, you should definitely judge a book by its cover. This is a limited edition Porsche book, it has an amazing cover with a great image on the front and you just know its going to have some great images inside.

The book is out in August, perfect timing for the christmas shopping list. It is pricey but it's 45 x 54cm in size and there are signed limited edition prints in this book.

This is the ultimate collectors book that offers another take on car photography. There are only 50 copies of this limited edition book, so put you name down for it ASAP.

Traveling with the Little Ones

There is a travel website / company out there that has been designed especially with families in mind.

My Little Swans has been set up as community for travellers with children, those requiring a different experience from the normal holiday. This website tells you the facts and so much more to put you ahead of other holidaymakers, you'll already feel like you have your feet on the ground with their overview. This is a great tip and trick on how to make your holiday a great time with your little angels, or devils!

My Little Swans have partnered up with a great tour operator as well as their concierge partner to make the whole trip a breeze. It is hard to say that a website can offer so much but this one is most certainly delivering.

This is a travel agent without the trash. There should be more of this type of website as it would work for so many aspects of people's lives. My little Swan is a lux way to travel, and God, the kids will love it.

Professor Green

This a new song by a UK rapper called Professor Green. He has pulled out of retirement the wonderful and divine singer Lilly Allen. The sound is great and so I hope it come across the pond to us very soon - this could be the new anthem for the summer... I am hoping to get a copy soon.

The music video is so stylish and Miss Allen look fabulous. The dresses and sets are simply COOL.

Professor Green is going to be a name that we are going to be hear about as he is burning up the charts in the UK, sadly we will be getting it late over here, but I cannot wait to hear it on Z100 one day soon.

Fancy a Ride

The new super bike from Puma.

This is a great looking bike from a odd company that make sneakers. The Puma bike has an 80's throw back feel, the colours used provide a retro look for the bike. This is a bike to be proud of, even just as a piece of art.

There are 5 different types of bike on offer and in our opinion, the funky one is the 'Funk' bike! This is a fixed gear bike that has a retro race vibe to it. The other bikes are slightly a little bit form following function but also have a great look to them.

This is another company that allows you to part customise your new Puma bike. The bikes also come in more subdued colours, such as black but if you are getting a funky bike then I think this is going to be the bike of your choice.

Lego Rocks

If you are like me and have fond memories of growing up with the iconic brand Lego, now is the time to let your inner kid free and express your love for lego.

There are two great salt and pepper shakers, just a little nod to the past and then there are these fab shakers - with the actual head of the lego men, well, a jumbo sized lego head! They look so great, as I am writing this I have hugh smile on my face.

Then, there is the ice tray, another nod to your childhood but this will make you look super cool. The ice tray and the salt and pepper shakers are just great ideas and another reason to retain our brand loyalty for even longer.

Thank you, Lego for making these products as they are just awesome.

Middle Men

We have been a bit slow on up loading great trailer for a while. The reason for that is there has been no great trailer for any movie that made us look at the realese date and say yes please we need to see this. Well This is middle men and seem like from the trailer a great movie with good cast and we wish it was coming out tomorrow.

This seem to be a problem with these great trailer is that you see it and then you go I really need to see that and then you forget or some thing happens and you miss it and then wait for it on apple TV or dvd. Why does this happen nearly every time? This might be me that is useless or the marketing budget for the movie we think you would like to see has run out.

Check out this great trailer for a movie I hope to see and we would all like to see.

ABC Mania

Jean-Georges Vongerichten has teamed up with ABC Home to launch a new and exciting 'Farm To Table' restaurant using healthy, local, organic produce as much as possible.

It opened a couple of months ago and just keeps on getting better. Don't be put off if you've got a hungry man in tow, they can sink their teeth in to the Roasted Pork T Bone while you eat what they call rabbit food, aka Roast Carrot and Avocado Salad with Crunchy Seeds and Citrus.

Rugby

This is campus clothing by Ralph Lauren, and it's campus clothing that you'll look so much better in!

Rugby is the brand but as I said, the mother to this brand is the wonderful Ralph Lauren. They have mixed preppie style with causal campus wear to give you that stylish twist to the people around you on campus.

Rugby has also gone the way of Nike ID and given you a chance to customise every outfit you wear so that it's just your way. We feel there's a great choice on the website and you can personalise the iconic polo shirts so yours is like no other, especially amazing for this wonderful summer we are in.

Ralph Lauren is at the heart of the business so you know that it is going to be great quality and feel special. Rugby is a brand that has funky edge but it definitely takes its style cues from English Rugby.

TAG Heuer have teamed up with Assouline to bring you a super book.It is the book to celebrate the 150 years of a watch super company that when you read through you realise how great Heuer is and how it has shaped our watch world.

This is a great book that has been written by the amazing Nick Foulkes. He makes you feel apart of the history and take you in the wonderful world of Heuer.

The images are fabulous and real add another depth to the great writing. This is a great book that has such a great team behind it. You will not believe the history of Heuer and then TAG Heuer and how it built it self in to a hyper brand.

Bamford Watch Department

The Bamford Watch Department is The Daddy of all watch customisation houses!

There are a few companies out there blackening Rolexes watches and I could get in to who does what but it's pretty simple, The AMG of the Rolex world is The Bamford Watch Department!

This company has created some beautiful watches from the slick black Deepsea to a Milgauss with stunning honeycomb dial which harks back to the original 1950's Milgauss watch.  The BWD GMT Master II is the watch of choice for Nigo, the founder and owner of Bathing Ape who was written up in my earlier article.

I've been in touch with the BWD to try and find out who they sell to and they said, "our clients are our best kept secret."  These guys are so cool that they have watches on the wrists  of so many great people but wouldn't tell us - I love that.

Take a look at their website and you can customise a number of watches. It's like Nike ID, how cool but this is not the only thing, when chatting to them I found out that this is just tip of the iceberg.  You just need to phone them up and you can run through so many different options to create that unique watch that the other houses don't offer.

So they are at the forefront of developing the best of the best watches for you and I.

Now pricing between these four brands are very similar but taking a quote from JP Morgan, "if you have to ask how much it costs, you can't afford it". That is harsh but if I could buy any one of the brands I would go for the BWD watches. Having started seven years ago they have kept ahead of the competition with constant development and new launches.

If you want to see one in the flesh, head to the uber shops like Colette (Paris) or Dover Street Market (London) to name but a few.

It's obvious that I'm in love with BWD but to take some great words from a great man, "I am easily satisfied with the very best." Winston Churchill.

"The journey of a thousand miles begins with but a single step." Confucius

We think that this quote best describes what we are doing here at LGB. We are here to not perpetuate the norm on blogs but to be innovative on news. We want to show and to write about travel, cars, movies, architecture and fashion in a different way. This is a place that should be your one-stop for the news on all the luxury items that surround our lives.

We have multiple writers at LGB and they are divided up into three groups:

l@liquidgoldbaby.com This group focuses mainly on travel, cars, movies and architecture. Now, when we say that, we mean that we are looking at new travel destinations or ones that have been forgotten, yet still amazing.

Cars: We are looking at the cutting edge of car technology and also looking at what has shaped them to this point.

Architecture: We are going to be looking at revolutionary design, what has lasted and why it has lasted for so long. We will be looking at designs that take your breath away.

Movies: We are looking at what is coming out, but also jumping back to cult classics. We will show trailers that we like and will write short reviews of the movies that we think you should see.

G@liquidgoldbaby.com This group is all about women and what they really want. It’s going to be your black book, your one and only source; a place you can come to for what’s really moving and shaking in the women’s fashion industry. It will include products that are needed for the busy glamorous life and where to go to get them.

B@liquidgoldbaby.com This group is all about men and the life that surrounds them. We are looking at what is hot, everything from watches to the latest in technology. We will look at what has moved us to where we are today, also looking at trend forecasting to see what and where we think trends will be heading.

We cannot wait to show you our world and would like to leave you on a great quote that we think is our motto here at liquidgoldbaby.com.

"I am easily satisfied with the very best". Winston Churchill
