The Mission Bicycle Company
San Francisco is one of my favourite places to cycle, and has been since my first shaky effort at riding a tandem across the awe-inspiring Golden Gate Bridge. There's something about those (often exhausting) hills and perfect climate that makes San Fran one of the most interesting and fun cities to cycle through. My last visit was made even better thanks to a visit to the Mission Bicycle Company, who specialise in custom bike for those who just can't seem to find what they want in the mass produced marketplace. Run by a great group of bike-obsessives, Mission are capable of creating just about anything you could want in a bike. If you're in the area and love to personalise, like us in LGB, then you should definitely check these guys out. Just watch out for the hills...
The Evanta Motor Company
Evanta build cars to client specifications with the aim of providing an in-road to the fabulous world of quality motoring. Inspired by the designs of the classic 1950's look, Evanta are all about creating modern day cars with a hint of the past. They are dead set on the art of customisation and that is why we love them so much- they even go to the extent of ensuring that all dashboard items are suited to your individual frame. Perfect.
BMW Zagato Coupe
This is a fantastic new model released by BMW. It's absolutely stunning and although details are currently thin on the ground performance-wise, we have already fallen in love with the gorgeous shape of this beauty. Take a look at the profile shot. We dare you not to want it...
Friends of Wiki Leaks
FoWL is a great site that connects you to 12 like-minded people from around the globe in order to fight for your rights and beliefs. In a time where we are becoming increasingly socially aware yet still there are decreasing turnouts in many elections, it seems the best time to make a stand and become active is now, to inspire a more active political system. We really like this site and theink that the way it works keeps it manageable and practical.
The CordLite Light-Up iPhone Cable
This is a good idea for those who perhaps are visually impaired or have difficulty seeing in the dark. The cable lights up at the touch of your hand giving you a fairly large amount of light to see what you're doing. Whilst we're sure this isnot the biggest problem the world has faced, this is still useful as a light in general and is handy to have by your bedside.
A great twist on an old favourite
If you love ginger ale then this is the site for you. Freshgingerale.com offer a product that is created using only fresh ginger and pure cane sugar. They have several flavours available including Jasmine, reen tea and our favourite, pomegranate. Give them a try.
Wolsey's flagship store in London
This store in Brewer Street is a fantastic place to visit if you're looking for updates on classic looks. The ethos of this 250+ year old business is to offer contemporary takes of iconic looks and there will be something to suit any modern gent here. Well recommended by the LGB team.
This is a great little bike that we really wanted to share with you. It started out as a faux cruiser but has had some modification performed including the tank and wheels. Several parts considered non-essential were removed making this one of the best little city bikes we have seen that has bags of character.
The Battlescar helmet
Take a look at this cool looking helmet that is perfect for the more adventurous cyclists out there. It looks like it means business and offers great protection for any off-road activities.
Jaguar XJ Ultimate
Following form our Aston Martin feature yesterday, we have another outstanding Brit car to show you today that shows just how far these long standing companies have come. This model features several additions to the regular XJ, chief among our favourites being the inclusion of iPads and TVs behind the front seats as well as folding tables and a twenty-speaker sound system.
The Amazing new DBS Ultimate Edition
We love Aston Martin at LGB, they are the kings of cool in the car world and strike the perfect balance between sleek, stunning looks and subtle taste and modesty. This latest model, their DBS Ultimate Edition, looks just phenomenal. The satin or gloss finishes available are amazing and the contouring of the body are both practical in their aerodynamic nature, and head-turning with their great looks. Perfection.
We are obsessed with customisation here at LGB and are blown away with the designs featured by Busyman Bicycles (you can check out their blog spot here). Masters of custom leather bike parts, especially saddles, they are brilliant at creating designs according to the needs of their clients and their portfolio consists of some really interesting work that we just love. If you are serious about cycling, want to commemorate an event or simply like great looking bikes, then definitely check these guys out.
The Pagani Zonda 760 LH
Lewis Hamilton has entered the world of customisation with his own Pagani Zonda 760 LH (his initials replacing the usual RS we are used to).
It's a bold statement and we think it looks great with a fantastic gold trim and black colourscheme. The car is to feature a manual gearbox at the request of the client, so it will no doubt provide a different experience to his 'open top company car' with its paddle gearshift.
Reputedly worth over £1 million, this model might just stay as exclusive as the name suggests, but we can't help but admire this wonderful creation.
These are really interesting items for your home that can be beautiful, alternative or even unnerving. Our favourite item here is the cherub candle in black that looks almost as though it could be in a cathedral and is wonderfully gothic. Also available are excellent glass and fabric products that will give your home an interesting touch.
The Victoria Beckham Range Rover Evoque Special Edition
This is the latest Range Rover Special Edition. Designed in collaboration with Victoria Beckham, it's a great new model that we're sure is going to cause a stir. The luxurious interior makes for an incredibly comfortable ride and the great drive quality of Range Rover is ever-present.
Westward Leaning sunglasses
Westward Leaning have a somewhat unusual but refreshing MO for a sunglasses company. They aim to highlight social issue and focus on the triumphs of humanity. We particularly like their 'Teddy Roosevelt' design.
The lastest in analogue technology from... Moleskine?
Send your very own analogue SMS messages using the Moleskine ballistic device. Harking back to the age-old schoolboy custom design, this takes inspiration from the old-school means of employing elastic bands to propel paper messages across the room. This comes with load and range levels printed onto the top of the notebook ensuring military-like accuracy.
Cartier- Juste un Clou
This video shows just how true style never gets outdated. Designed in the 1970's creative boom in NYC, this fine piece still has the class it always had. Meaning 'just a nail,' they are a best seller of Cartier despite originally being available only to celebrity couples such as Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor. This is certainly a unisex piece and has been used to affirm relationships for the last 40 years.
Trek Bikes Domane 6
The new Domane 6 from Californian legends Trek is a step ahead of the pack. It's surprisingly comfortable to ride while being blisteringly fast. Its not for the faint of heart but is remarkably stable and efficient making it the perfect choice for top racers and enthusiastic amateurs alike.
Moet & Chandon Rose- Tag Your Love
This is an interesting new idea to promote Moet & Chanodon Rose. The concept is simple- utilise the pink tagging marker included with the bottle to write personalised messages onto the bottle. This is a great way of making an overblown romantic gesture a little bit more quirky or for spicing up a congratulatory event.
Top Gun- IWC Schaffhausen Pilot's Watches
This video is a great scene setter for these awesome looking pilot watches. One for the boys.
The X-9 Nighthawk
The X-9 Nighthawk is an experimental bike frame made by Brano Meres Engineering & Design that features carbon fiber skinned panels with a honeycomb core. This makes for a strong, robust, yet extremely lightweight frame and the design and shape are reminiscent of a stealth bomber. This is definitely something to take a look at and try for an avid cyclist as the frame is certain to turn heads.
The new Jaguar F-Type
This image is a speculative graphic on the upcoming Jaguar F-Type, created by Carscoop member 'Platform.' The design is a stunner and we can't wait for the real thing to be unleashed on the world. Sales are expected to commence during the middle of 2013 and the full production model is rumoured to be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show this September.
Michael Jordan Converse
Michael Jordan is one of those names that can bring a tear to the eye of many sportsfans around the globe. The NBA legend has everything- his own film, TV cartoon series and now these- the stunning 30 year commemorative Converse edition. They are limited to only 30 sets so act quickly!
Handpresso Auto is here
Handpresso have just released their Auto device- allowing you to make expresso in your car. This is brilliant for those who are taking long journeys and need to wake up, or if you just have a coffee addiction and need a fix. The device plugs into the cigarette lighter on most dashboards making it an easy option when mobile.
The latest in bikini fasion from Italy is here just in time for summer. Flaunt that beach body in style with these stunning new designs, the cheekiest one (no pun intended) features a small heart shaped hole that will make you the star of the beach...
Bamford Watch Department Rolex California Dial Submariner
This is awesome. The BWD have done it again with their latest custom Rolex, the Submariner featuring the California Dial. This is a really classy watch and looks amazing with the BWD customisation. The California Dial itself is a great talking point, featuring a mixed numeric system initially designed as a geographic shield for captured Allied troops in WWII. You simply must take a look.
"The journey of a thousand miles begins with but a single step." Confucius
We think that this quote best describes what we are doing here at LGB. We are here to not perpetuate the norm on blogs but to be innovative on news. We want to show and to write about travel, cars, movies, architecture and fashion in a different way. This is a place that should be your one-stop for the news on all the luxury items that surround our lives.
We have multiple writers at LGB and they are divided up into three groups:
firstname.lastname@example.org This group focuses mainly on travel, cars, movies and architecture. Now, when we say that, we mean that we are looking at new travel destinations or ones that have been forgotten, yet still amazing.
Cars: We are looking at the cutting edge of car technology and also looking at what has shaped them to this point.
Architecture: We are going to be looking at revolutionary design, what has lasted and why it has lasted for so long. We will be looking at designs that take your breath away.
Movies: We are looking at what is coming out, but also jumping back to cult classics. We will show trailers that we like and will write short reviews of the movies that we think you should see.
G@liquidgoldbaby.com This group is all about women and what they really want. It’s going to be your black book, your one and only source; a place you can come to for what’s really moving and shaking in the women’s fashion industry. It will include products that are needed for the busy glamorous life and where to go to get them.
B@liquidgoldbaby.com This group is all about men and the life that surrounds them. We are looking at what is hot, everything from watches to the latest in technology. We will look at what has moved us to where we are today, also looking at trend forecasting to see what and where we think trends will be heading.
We cannot wait to show you our world and would like to leave you on a great quote that we think is our motto here at liquidgoldbaby.com.
"I am easily satisfied with the very best". Winston Churchill
